Bad Grandpa’s Unrated Digital Release w/Live Twitter Viewing Party

Bad GrnadpaParamount Home Media Distribution is making me happy by helping to kick off the New Year with an extended, unrated cut of the blockbuster hit comedy Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, which arrived on Digital and Digital HD today!  Fans also had the chance today to watch the movie along with the film’s star, Johnny Knoxville, and register for a chance to win great prizes during the live Twitter viewing party, which was held at 5:00 p.m. PT today as well.  While this event is in the past, hence the coverage now, complete details for the sweepstakes can be found at www.GrandpasBadBoard.com.  And not to sound like a broken record, but before we get down to business…Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa is now available to download or stream at your favorite digital stores including CinemaNow, iTunes, Sony Entertainment Network, Target Ticket, VUDU and Xbox Video.  Now let’s get down to the real reason we’re all here!

In conjunction with the Digital debut of the unrated cut and the Twitter party with Johnny Knoxville, Paramount also held a live Grandpa’s Bad Board game event.  Players were able to visit the website, www.GrandpasBadBoard.com, to obtain their game board and see questions relating to scenes.  Those players who qualified and correctly filled out the board and submitted their cards are entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win an iPad Mini or a trip for two to Las Vegas.  I’ll try to recap tonight’s events as best as possible below.

This is my second time viewing this feature, but first in its unrated cut.  I was excited to check out what was added/extended.  But don’t fret…I’m going to wait until my Blu-ray review in a few weeks to deliver a full dish of what you can expect as far as that stuff, this is not the time or the place for that.  In the meantime, I’m just going to focus on covering this event and doing my best to let you know how it all went down.  Sound fair?  And now…the 5 pm hour is finally upon us!

So now that it’s all over I suppose I can share my coverage with you all, huh?  Well first of all, Johnny was a little late to the scene as I’ll show you below in a few.  And second, it wasn’t as interactive as I thought it would be.  I’ve been on these before with Christopher Nolan and Robert Downey Jr. and they have chatted up a storm, but that was all done over BD-Live.  I suppose because this was a Twitter event the conversation was a bit limited, but still…I expected Johnny to be a little more interactive with us than he was.  So with that being said I thought it be a hell of a lot cooler to capture all the live tweets as the poured in and share them with all the readers here that were unable to attend and just want a quick catch up on the meat and potatoes as it all went down.  So I apologize about the one duplicate tweet I erroneously captured, but below I have furnished the entire event via the majority of all the Tweets, mostly in order, as they came in.

Called “the year’s funniest movie” (Minneapolis Star Tribune) and “one of the sharpest comedies of the year” (USA Today), Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa earned over $100 million at the domestic box office.   The film will arrive on Blu-ray Combo Pack on January 28th.  Pre-order your copy now!
