Comic-Con 2010: Ms. Monster

Every Comic-Con something or someone always catches my eye and opens me up to new things and experiences in life.  This happened quite frequently to me this year at Comic-Con 2010, but I wanted to give a quick shot out to someone I met while running through the crowded vendor hall on Sunday.  She goes by the name of Ms. Monster.  Maybe you heard her, maybe you didn’t, but I was curious, so naturally I wanted to learn more about her.  That’s how we grow in life, right?  From life’s experiences…so anyway…

While running through the crowded vendor hall to meet up with fellow photographer Scott T. Morrison, I passed up a booth that sat a pretty girl in blue dressed in one hell of a kick-a$$ skeleton outfit (I need to talk to her about that outfit…it’s almost the exact one I visualized in my movie script).  I went up to her, gave her a whysoblu.com wristband and asked her if she wouldn’t mind if I took her picture.  Thankfully, she said yes.  I snapped a picture, thanked her and went on my merry way.  I probably did not go more than 20 feet before my brain fully processed what just happened.

BRAIN:  She was blue.

BRIAN: OMG!  She was!

BRAIN: You have to go back and see if she will pose with the wristband for future publicity if needed.

BRIAN: Right, on it.

It was funny because as soon as I got back to her booth and told her what my brain was thinking, she said she had the same similar thought I did when I hurried off initially.  So that was my meeting with Ms. Monster.  She gave me one of her cards and I really wish I could have spent more time talking to her and learning more about her projects, but as usual in life, I was in a hurry (insert sad face).

It turns out the Ms. Monster has her very own website that you can visit 5x a day or more if you like right here: msmonster.com.  So Ms. Monster, she’s kind of like a female version of the multi-talented Rob Zombie, this gal does it all… movies, comics, the undead horror hostess of schlock and much more.  What more can you ask for in a blue-skinned undead woman?  I’m satisfied.  Are you?  You owe it to yourself to check this talented girl out over at her official website today.  I hope we see a lot more of Ms. Monster around the site here from now on.  Thanks for reading!
