Comic-Con 2012: Free Digital Copies For Attendees From Flixster and Ultraviolet

Just announced today…Flixster will be giving Comic-Con attendees complimentary Ultraviolet enabled copies of certain Warner Bros. films.  Movies include Mortal Kombat, Mars Attacks, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Green Lantern, Justice League: Doom and Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.  Also, Flixster is proud to present free evening screenings of The Goonies, Beetlejuice and Friday the 13th (2009) at Extra at Comic-Con Stage in Bayfront Park.  See below for more information.

BURBANK, CALIF., July 12, 2012 – Flixster today announced it is giving San Diego Comic-Con® attendees complimentary UltraViolet-enabled copies of popular Warner Bros. Pictures titles for enjoyment through its movie viewing application on a wide variety of compatible devices. Starting July 12 through July 15, fans will receive complimentary movies by simply tweeting unique hashtagsfound at the DC Entertainment booth, and at the “Batcave,” which is located near the “Extra at Comic-Con” stage at Bayfront Park. New hashtags will be unveiled every day for access to titles such as “Mortal Kombat,” “Green Lantern” and “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.”

The exclusive hashtags will be displayed throughout the day on monitors at the DC Entertainment booth (#1915) inside the San Diego Convention Center as well as on posters found in the “Batcave” near the “Extra at Comic-Con” stage. Once the correct hashtag is tweeted, fans will receive a direct message from @Flixster with details on how to download their complimentary UltraViolet movie through Flixster. Movie buffs are encouraged to keep checking back for new hashtags.

The fun does not stop when the convention center doors close. Flixster also invites the public to a series of nighttime screenings of the some of the most iconic films ever released, including the perfect movie for Friday the 13th. All screenings will take place at the “Extra at Comic-Con” stage in Bayfront Park at no cost.  The films include:

Thursday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. PDT

“The Goonies”: In support of the release of the 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray Edition of this classic film, Flixster is pleased to present “The Goonies,” based on a story by Steven Spielberg, the Richard Donner–directed 1985 action extravaganza follows a teenaged Josh Brolin (“True Grit”), Corey Feldman (“The Lost Boys”) and Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings”) in the madcap search for the pirate treasure of One-Eyed Willie.

“Friday the 13th” (2009): “Supernatural’s” Jared Padalecki and The Mentalist’s Amanda Righetti revisit Camp Crystal Lake and its hockey-masked, machete-toting Jason Voorhees in this inventive reimagining of the original slasher classic.

“Beetlejuice”: Before he was Batman, Michael Keaton was creating havoc as the restless spirit/bio-exorcist Beetlejuice for recently deceased couple Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”) and Geena Davis (“Thelma & Louise”) and goth girl Winona Ryder in this 1988 horror comedy from director Tim Burton.
