Comic-Con 2017: HBO’s Westworld Hall H Panel

HBO’s Westworld concluded its critically acclaimed first season this past December and is currently in production filming things for season 2. The series-created, executive produced, and written by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin, based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name.   Saturday’s Hall H cast panelists included Ben Barnes as Logan, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Armistice, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, James Marsden as Teddy, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore, Rodrigo Santoro as Hector, Angela Sarafyan as Clementine, Jimmi Simpson as William, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale, Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Shannon Woodward as Elsie and Jeffrey Wright as Bernard.  The panel was moderated by internationally renowned vocal artist/beatboxer/musician/comedian Reggie Watts.

Now I am not going to lie.  While I liked the show it is a very slow one at times.  I often found myself having to watch many parts twice due to falling asleep in its many slow, inconsequential parts.  I mention this because it’s almost like the show’s slowness at times transferred into real life as this Hall H panel on Saturday was an absolute dud.  Many in the Hall H crowd were bored out of their minds and all it took was to look around you in the audience to notice all the people sound asleep.  That’s unfortunate in my opinion, but it’s real life.  Since the show finished in December last year the only thing they had to show us was a blooper reel from the first season and some quick clips from the second as they have only been filming for a week now.  Season 2 won’t be ready until some undetermined as of yet date in 2018.  With that being said I did snap some pictures to commemorate it all so check them out down below.  Enjoy!
