SDCC 2015: The Walking Dead

2015-Comic-Con-ArticlesI watched the first season of The Walking Dead and never really cared enough to return, but I’m considering watching the newest season, premiering October 11th.  Of course Chris Hardwick was the moderator for the panel, which included Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Steven Yeun, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira, Greg Nicotero, Lennie James, Lauren Cohan, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Scott Gimple, Gale Anne Hurd, and Dave Alpert. Phew, that’s a lot of people.

They showed the season six trailer, and it looks pretty great; basically everything I wanted from the first season.

That’s some fantastic zombie action! And did you hear that horrible dialogue?!?  AND ETHAN EMBRY! I’m sold. I have no attachment to any other these characters, but certain moments resonated strongly with the audience (like Daryl having a gun pointed at his face), so I’m sure people will give me backstory I didn’t ask for. I just care about the zombies.

Very Cool: Gimple revealed that the premiere will be at Madison Square Garden. I won’t be there, but if you live near me, you can come over and watch it. Bring chips.

We were told that flashbacks weren’t going to be as prominent as last season. Good! who cares about the people? Gimme the zombies.

The wolves will play a part in a way you won’t expect. I hope they meow.

The season six premiere will feature the largest number of walkers since the pilot. Around 500. Nicotero showed some stills of the walking dead, which should be framed and hung in my bathroom.

A blooper clip ran about four minutes. Those actors – they’re so funny!!!

“The Walking Dead” premiers October 11th. Bring chips.

I never stand in front of the elevator doors when they open. All because of the movie The Departed.
