Tense Thriller By Larry Fessenden BENEATH Arrives On Blu-ray March 25th!

BeneathScream Factory doesn’t release a whole lot of modern horror films, they pride themselves on being “Rated R for Retro”.  So, when they do pick up and distribute something new, it gets my attention.  Last year they released Dead Souls, Cockneys Vs Zombies  and the anthology Chilling Visions: 5 Senses Of Fear.  Their first new movie for 2014 will be Larry Fessenden’s Beneath.  This looks to be a giant fish kills debaucherous teens type movie.  While it may sound throwaway to some, I’ve heard a lot of good things about this film from very credible people in the horror field (writers, critics).  So, I’ve had this one kind of on the radar.  Scream Factory will be giving it its home video debut and supplying it with some extras on March 25th.  As always, if you’re interested you can click the Amazon link below and support your fellow Why So Blu writer by pre-ordering.  After the jump, Scream Factory provides you with all the specifics and nitty gritty details of their release of Beneath.

After their high school graduation, six teens celebrate with a trip to the remote and mysterious Black Lake. Only Johnny seems to suspect there’s something in the water stalking the revelers as they set out in their small wooden rowboat stocked with beer and fireworks. But why would Johnny let them go swimming if he knew what lurked beneath?  A sudden attack from the depths followed by a lethal chain of events leave the teens stranded on the leaking vessel in the middle of the lake with no oars, no way back to shore, held hostage by a menace that circles them persistently. And so the teens turn on each other, and the petty high school grievances they almost left behind prove more deadly than the monster that waits to devour them.

Chiller Films presents a Glass Eye Pix production in association with OffHollywood Pictures. BENEATH is written by Tony Daniel and Brian D. Smith, and directed by horror icon Larry Fessenden (The Last WinterHabit). Produced by Fessenden and Peter Phok for Glass Eye Pix (Stake LandThe InnkeepersI Sell The Dead).
