The Daily Blu…September 14, 2009

We finally got some pertinent Blu-ray news to report on.  Yeah!  New Line Home Entertainment has announced a November 24th release date for the romantic comedy Four Christmases.  The Blu-ray release will see a 1080P VC-1 video presentation and a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio surround track.  Nothing like a good Christmas comedy to put you in the holiday spirits.  Big brother Sony has plans to bring the Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth, to Blu-ray on November 10th.  My wife will be pumped for that!  The next tidbit is probably the biggest news of the day, for me at least.  Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Marilyn Manson: Guns, God and Government – Live in L.A. on Blu-ray November 17th.  The 2002 show will be presented on Blu-ray with the original high-definition L.A. footage and soundtrack together as a cohesive concert.  My wife will not be pumped for that.

Fans of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 Remake) will rejoice at this news.  Amazon dropped their pre-order price to a mere $9.99.  That’s not a steep price to pay anymore to see a frightened Jessica Biel run frantically around the old farmhouse.  Get yours while the getting is good!

In movie news, it seems that George Lucas is hard at work on a new script for Indy V, in which Harrison Ford has already confirmed he would do if the script is good.  And it looks like filming will start, on the set of the 4th Spider-Man movie, this coming January.

And in late breaking news, I am the bearer of much grave news.  I just learned that Patrcik Swayze has passed away at age 57.  Such a tragedy.  R.I.P. Patrick.
