Wonder Woman (4K UHD Blu-ray Review)

Wonder Woman 4K Blu-ray ReviewA lot of this is going to be a rehash of my 4K UHD VUDU review of this title formerly published here.  So with that disclaimer out of the way let’s begin here!  Like George Washington once proclaimed “I cannot tell a lie.”  Wonder Woman was my number one most anticipated film of the calendar year.  Say what?  I’m 100% serious and no I’m not on any drugs.  This is 80 plus years in the making here, folks!  It’s historic!  I would be prone to say Justice League is, but I’m weary about how ridiculous Cyborg looks thus far.  I’m joking of course.  However, I’ll reserve judgement of that until November (as I hear they are working on him in reshoots anyway).  For now let me bask in the ever radiant light of everything Gal Gadot (check her out here) and the Amazonian princess she portrays, Wonder Woman.  Call me a sucker, but I just love a strong female protagonist in my action movies, and it doesn’t hurt if they’re hot too.  So you’ve all seen my proverbial masturbation over the three DCEU films that have come before, Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, and now it’s time to lasso up Wonder Woman.  Wouldn’t that be spectacular to lasso up Wonder Woman, huh (insert dirty evil thought)?  Ha ha.  Come on!  Let’s get started!

Wonder Woman 4K Menu

The time has finally come!  After waiting three plus excruciating, long months it’s finally time to hit play on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray’s onscreen menu as pictured above.  What say you?

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Film

As I kind of mentioned up above Wonder Woman is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).  It introduces us to how Wonder Woman came to be after American spy pilot Steve Trevor crashes on the island of Themyscira and tells Diana Prince all about World War I.  Diana believes this is the second coming of the God of War, Ares.  So long story short she leaves her home to try to stop the war and in the process you guessed it.  She goes on to become the “wonderful” woman we all knew she was destined to be.  The film is directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster, The Killing) from a screenplay written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, based off a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder and Jason Fuchs.  Gal Gadot returns in the titular superhero role she embodied and made famous in last year’s Batman v. Superman.   In addition Wonder Woman stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner and David Thewlis.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Since I am so passionate about this film I did a little more research on it than I usually do for others.  In doing so I found out two things that really made me go hmm to myself.  I personally love learning little behind-the-scenes tidbits like this.  First of all and much to my surprised I learned that Miss Jenkins actually pitched a Wonder Woman film to Warner Bros. some ten years ago, but they said no due to the fact the viewing audience was male dominated.  Oh my how things have changed in our world.  I mean look at what Rey is doing for the Star Wars fanbase, but I digress.  However, good for Patty as it looks like all her persistence paid off and she now has helmed a historic $400 million dollar adventure on the big screen here.  This one has gone down in the history books.  That much is for sure.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

The other thing I wanted to bring up before we talk about the film itself is the fact that Patty Jenkins originally had her reservations about Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.  The problem being is that I believe Patty likes to do here own casting.  Let’s not forget that Gal was casted as Wonder Woman way back before the production of Batman v. Superman so Patty had no choice but to roll with her.  However, once Patty started working with Gal all her apprehension quickly dissipated and from what I read she simply adores her relationship with Gal and wouldn’t want Wonder Woman any other way.  You have to love those sentiments going in that at least we know our director here believes in her leading lady.  Damn straight!  Furthermore, Patty’s love for Gal and why she admires her so is captured in much more detail in her written foreword within Sharon Gosling’s Wonder Woman: The Art and Making of the Film.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

I guess before we even deep dive into talking about the film it’s worth noting that beans have already been spilled that a Wonder Woman sequel will be forthcoming.  So that really means one thing.  It confirms that Warner Bros. is finally confident in their belief they have both a profitable and this time critical winner on their hands.  I hope all future DCEU entries are good because dear God I can’t take another Scott Mendelson or Aaron Neuwirth slam of the DCEU film universe on Facebook.  They’re not that bad!  And no I’m not talking this Scot Mendelson.  LMAO.  Thankfully Aaron’s drought too finally came to an end with this picture.  See here!  But seriously it’s finally time to start talking how did Gal Gadot do in her first big screen solo adventure and more importantly how the hell is it.  I’m way too excited for any kind of organization in this review so oh hell let’s talk about both those points at once and whatever other chaotic thoughts come to my mind.  Ha ha.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Truth be told 2 hours and 20 minutes go by as fast as they do for me here.  I’m not going on record saying there aren’t pacing issues at times or areas that could have been trimmed up, but truth be told again my attention never wanders here.  I get so engrossed in the film that even before the inevitable Third Act plays out I find myself saying please don’t end, please don’t end.  I can sit here all night.  I really could.  Wonder Woman enriched my life with everything I desire.  It has brains.  It has beauty.  And above all else it has brawn.  Like Michael Myers is to evil, Wonder Woman is to good, a seemingly unstoppable boogeywoman.  Now I know that is not a word, but bear with me as I just invented it.  Is there really any stopping Wonder Woman?  I honestly don’t know, but I don’t care either.  She has my money no matter what.  I guess going forward from a storyline perspective it would be nice to see some kind of “physical” weakness, but I digress.  Let’s talk everything good about Wonder Woman from here on out.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Much like in Man of Steel and the Krypton setting of Supe’s home planet the First Act of our film here takes place on the mythical island of Themyscira.  The origin of these women that inhabit this island is explained via narration over historical events.  However, that’s not before one clever bookend that ties nicely into the plot of BvS.  As soon as they opened things in this fashion I had an instant hard on and just knew I was going to love this feature.  Ha ha.  And so the origin explains the Gods, the downfall of men and the women of this island magically shielded from the rest of the modern world or so to speak since this is a period piece like the first Captain America film was.  However, unlike that Marvel film we dare don’t speak of in a DCEU movie review here, Wonder Woman isn’t a bore.  Thus we’re introduced to young Diana, her mother, aunt and all her other sisterly protectors.  We learn about her training, her motivation and how she came to be the fierce warrior we now know her as.  More importantly though we also learn literally how she came to be…um her conception into this world.  If you can get past this leap of faith, then I have no worries that you won’t be enthralled throughout.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Right from the get go, albeit a slow beginning, we’re introduced to Diana’s world.  I already mentioned three traits I love about this film: brains, beauty and brawn, but there’s so much more!  There’s humor, wit, empathy, compassion, heart and something I was very happy to see here…violence.  Make no mistake this is a superhero action film, but perhaps all the marketing of Wonder Woman Barbie dolls got it all wrong here.  Boys are going to love this “gal” too.  They are going to want Wonder Woman toys and t-shirts.  I know I do!  She’s not only a killer in the looks department, but also on the battlefield too.  Holy hell is she cunning and brute.  To see her take out a sniper on top of a building is like the milky surprise you get when you bite into a Cadbury Creme Egg.  It’s simply scrumptious if you like that kind of stuff.  There’s some hardcore action sequences here that are loads of fun, but for artistic and fighting style purposes the filmmakers tinker with them all Matrix-style throughout.  However, I’m cool with all that.  If you can’t have fun with Gal kicking arse in every which direction, then perhaps this isn’t the film for you.  For all others please read on.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

The real star of this film isn’t so much the character of Wonder Woman it’s of the woman that embodies her, Gal Gadot.  I must say I had my doubts when she was first casted a few years back, but thank the Gods she has proven me wrong.  She owns this role, but not only of Wonder Woman.  Oh no!  I’m talking that of Diana “Prince” too.  When we move into the Act Two “Fun & Games” section of the film that’s where I knew right then and there that we made the right choice with casting this “gal.”  She brought sexy back to the world of superheroes, but also innocence and gullibility the brilliant way she portrayed her Clark Kent alter ego, Diana Prince.  Think of the tomfoolery of Nina Dobrev’s character in xXx: Return of Xander Cage.  She was both nerdy and ambitious, but on the surface completely innocent and gullible looking. You get what I’m dropping here?  While at the same time she should be commended for her stealth, athleticism and fierce fighting skills.  Her time in the Israeli army was well spent because she confidently pulled off the appearance of warrior that you never want to cross on the battlefield because she owned it.

Wonder Woman Movie Review

Awesome slo-mo action sequences aside there’s also rich characters, a love interest for Diana and consequences for all.  Let’s tackle the characters first.  They’re likable, developed and enjoyable.  From the band of misfits Steve assembles for the journey to the World War I front lines to the Amazonian family that raises Diana on the secret island they are all integral to the forward momentum of the story.  The screen time shared by Pine and Gadot provided the utmost of enjoyment and that’s where that gullibility factor I mentioned up above really shines.  It was cute, humorous and even thought provoking to take in both the dialogue and banter between the two.  Of course one thing leads to another.  What would a good story be without a love interest?  It’s an essential ingredient and as you’ll find out also very important to the underlying development and motivations of Wonder Woman’s character.  Even the villains were mischievous and menacing.  There’s a woman that makes killer gas that even eats through gas masks.  Hee haw!  You had me at hello there.  However, none of this is as important as the fact that every action in this story yields a consequence.  There’s just not sequences for the hell of it.  I can see why some people hate this of BvS, but whatever.  Storytelling is improved upon here.  There I said it!

For all the haters out there the only thing I can possibly understand is maybe people’s beef with the ending.  Yes it’s mandatory there has to be a God-like battle.  You’ll understand when you see it, but given her unlimited powers and abilities what else can you possibly do?  It’s perfectly acceptable and in my opinion rightfully justified.  Of course these are the shining moments where poorly written dialogue and stupid one-liners usually prevail, and Wonder Woman is no exception to that rule, but ultimately it’s the journey to this point that has made this outing so spectacular.  So what I’m saying is you just got to roll with the punches and gleefully applaud for the newest love in your life, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.  It will be alright, trust me.  At least you know they won’t let her die as she’s in Justice League and obviously on the DCEU timeline that one comes way after this.  Ha ha.  I won’t ruin anything though as because this setup of an explosive ending is well telegraphed throughout.  Needless to say the trailers did a remarkable job of at least leaving it as a surprise and so will I.  Now speaking of Justice League (see my Comic-Con 2017 coverage of it all here)…

Wonder Woman Movie Review

While we can speculate all day long on the events of the upcoming Justice League movie the one thing I really hope the film accomplishes is challenging each of the members’ physical traits.  And I say this in regards to Wonder Woman in particular.  My only nitpick here in this outing is that she seems physically indestructible in this film.  One outing like this is fine, but a subsequent outing where she basically can’t be harmed may leave me a bit disgruntled.  After watching this and if I were in the Justice League, I would say go Wonder Woman go get them.  She apparently can’t really be hurt.  I would like to see the dynamics of this bad thought of mine flipped in the Justice League for not only her, but for all the team members.  After all what good is a hero without flaws?  The answer is absolutely nothing.  They are just wooden Michael Myers in my opinion.  However, I digress.  Wonder Woman is an absolute blast!  It’s a great superhero story full of whimsical writing, comic relief, spectacular action sequences and one hell of a strong cast, not to mention an exquisite leading lady in Gal Gadot.

Wonder Woman

Video

The below video score and related critique of things here are based solely upon my viewing of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation of Wonder Woman.

  • Encoding: HEVC / H.265
  • Resolution: 4K (2160p)
  • Dolby Vision: Not on 4K UHD Disc (Yes on VUDU UHD)
  • Aspect Ratio: 2.40:1
  • Clarity/Detail: I initially tested the VUDU UHD streaming version of this movie out on 2 different 4K UHD streaming sources, the Roku Premiere+ (hooked up to Sony 930D) and through the VUDU app found on the Samsung KS8000.  My results were the same on both calibrated sets.  The movie gets a bit noisy in select scenes.  I just want to forewarn everyone thinking it’s going to be a pristine presentation say like Ghost in the Shell is.  It’s more on par with the likes of BvS and Man of Steel in appearance.  The noisy parts can be seen as early as Diana’s childhood on Themyscira, but are more prevalent in the WWI battle scenes such as the infamous No Man’s Land sequence.  It’s nothing that will take you out of the movie itself, but it is noticeable and busy at times.  Speaking of WWI did you know Wonder Woman is the highest grossing film on the subject?  It is!  However, the noise is not as pronounced in the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation.  It’s packed tighter and to my eyes is less distracting.  So here’s the deal folks in terms of clarity and detail.  If you can get past the noise I make mention of here, and you should easily be able to do so, you’ll notice every single pore, mole, freckle, wrinkle, vein and tiny arm hair on Gal’s flawless body is visible with no spectacles required.  I love that.  Steve has some serious stubble going on at times too.  LOL. I  am just saying, for the ladies reading this that is.  What I love second most is the fine detail in the textures such as cracks in the Amazonian leather, rock, weapons, props, steel such as the paint on Dr. Poison’s experimental gas tank, brick, blemishes in the bronzes and so much more.  However, I don’t want to deny all the intricate detail in the incredible layered sets and various props employed throughout.  They are simply exquisite to behold here.  I guess my only nitpick is some of the onscreen explosions are of lesser quality, but that’s nothing to seriously ding this one over.
  • Depth: The depth of field goes on forever in this one with exemplarily examples such as Themyscira’s rich vegetation, waterfalls, cliffs and Blu-ray blue water in the backgrounds, the streets of London, Paris, the battlefields, village, castle, train yard, the German party where Gal adorns that stunning blue dress and so much more.  The characters all that three-dimensional pop to them too literally lifting them up from their incredibly detailed backgrounds and environments.  No expense was spared here in making this cinematography jump right off the screen at you here.  I cannot wait to see this one on Blu-ray 3D.  I’ll tackle that one tomorrow.
  • Black Levels: The black levels are deep, dark and natural throughout here with HDR being king and paramount.  Nothing gets lost in the darker moments such as at dusk when Steve and Diana leave Themyscira, sailing on ship to London under the moonlight, the climatic ending at nighttime and more. Other moments that highlight exquisitely deep blacks include the secret German meeting underground.  Lights and flames are what really pop in contrast within darker scenes such as the campfire or bombastic/fiery conclusion at the Hall of Doom.  Blacks are deep and the rich HDR infused colors complement them perfectly.  Speaking of colors…
  • Color Reproduction: They colors are ALL bold, rich and vivacious throughout.  My Dallas friend Monty Britton didn’t lie when he proclaimed on our various 4K Facebook groups how amazing the HDR is in this one (although he was referring to the stream).  From  Themyscira’s rich green vegetation and bright blooming flowers and Blu-ray waters to Steve’s dreamy blue eyes and the way that golden lasso puts everything else on the screen to shame is simply a sight to behold and drool over in awe.  Also, and this is very important, Wonder Woman’s Amazonian armor looks breathtaking, badass and like a million bucks throughout.  No matter what scene she’s in it pops against all.  This 4K UHD Blu-ray is definitely a looker in the color department when it wants to be.  At other times though the colors can be muted and artificially tweaked for flashbacks and various different sequences.
  • Flesh Tones: The skin tones look natural, authentic and healthy for most part.  Your experience may vary especially depending upon your TV’s calibration and/or settings.
  • Noise/Artifacts: I already made mention of the noisiness in the presentation up above in the Clarity/Detail remarks.  Again here your results may vary from mine.  I hope this is not distracting for you. Let the movie speak for itself.  The only other moment I noticed a lot of onscreen noise was when the gas goes off in the village and Wonder Woman is looking around.  However, again I digress.  This is a war movie and grain should be a welcome companion here.  You don’t want things to look fake or digitally artificial.  You want all out war and grittiness.  At least I do.  Ha ha.

Wonder Woman

Audio

Like I mentioned up above in the video section, the below audio score and critical comments of such are based solely upon my viewing of Warner Bros’ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation of Wonder Woman.  Just an FYI both the 4K Ultra HD and 1080p Blu-ray Disc come heavily armed with a bombastic Dolby Atmos surround track.

  • Audio Format(s): English Dolby Atmos (Dolby TrueHD compatible), English Descriptive Audio 5.1, French (Dubbed in Quebec) 5.1 Dolby Digital, Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital
  • Subtitles: English SDH, French, Spanish
  • Dynamics: This is one of those fine examples where you can say the rousing score makes this incredible movie that much better.  It’s insane how it immerses and moves you throughout from the tiniest of tender moments to the most bombastic battlefield moments absolutely nothing gets lost in this track.  Wonder Woman may be a female, but her Dolby Atmos track flexes its muscles here like Marvel’s Mighty Thor.  This track has beauty, brains and brawn and I’ll leave it at that.  Those without surround systems need not look here.  Only the mightiest and bravest warriors are welcomed to play in this robust, dynamically groundbreaking sound field.
  • Height: Some examples of Dolby Atmos “height” channel uses are Steve’s airplane flying overhead, arrows shot up and falling down, birds chirping up above, guns firing up, missiles launched, bombs, explosion after explosion, rain falling down, steam rising and more.
  • Low Frequency Extension: This Dolby Atmos track packs quite a wallop in its every engaging score, physical blows and action, metal swords clanging, plane engines revving, underwater submerges, gun shots, endless explosions, smashing rocks while scaling the God Killer tower like Spider-Man, bombs dropping, bombs deflecting, bombs exploding and so much more.  The subwoofer is just as macho and powerful as any male lead action movie.  That’s for sure!  One of the greatest subwoofer moments though has to be in that initial training sequence where Diana discovers her power for the first time.  Wow!
  • Surround Sound Presentation: This is one hell of an immersive track.  Never ever have I heard the score bleed so much into the rears.  In fact it never leaves the rear channels.  You’re always completely immersed and engaged during any rousing, tender, sinister and/or bombastic moment of the score.  From arrows flying by to Diana’s realization of her powers during training that swooshes over you I have nothing but rave things to say about this surround presentation.  Directionality is in full effect as every single onscreen action is rendered realistically and authentically around you.  Airplanes, explosions, water dripping down, horses, horns, dogs barking (driving my own crazy as a result), whistles, German 77 guns, chaos and destruction, bullet ricochet and ambiance/effects are just a select few I wrote down that fill your rear channels with absolute bliss and glee.
  • Dialogue Reproduction: The dialogue levels are clear, intelligible and prioritized throughout with the utmost of directionality whenever necessary.  I never strained once to hear any spoken word.

Wonder Woman

Extras

The Wonder Woman 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray set features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the theatrical version in 4K with HDR and a 1080p Blu-ray disc also featuring the theatrical version.  You’ll also get the theatrical feature in Digital HD UltraViolet redeemable in UHD on VUDU and a slew of special features clocking in at nearly two hours as listed below.  FYI…if you go into the Extras selection on the VUDU app for this film you’ll gain access to concept art, photographs and storyboards (very cool).  Included in this 4K UHD Blu-ray set you’re also receiving an all-new bonus scene never before seen in theaters.  Can this 4K release get any better?  Well, a commentary with Gadot and Jenkins would be a nice touch, but I’m happy with everything we have down below.  They can always double dip later on.  Ha ha.  Come on!  I’ll show you around all the extras found on the Blu-ray Disc.  Just an FYI before we begin though the iTunes HD version of Wonder Woman (obviously purchased separately from this set) contains an extra called “Wonder Woman: Defining Diana” where Gal Gadot reflects on portraying the iconic role and the responsibility that goes along with it.  I’m just letting you know.  Now let’s begin!

  • Epilogue: Etta’s Mission (HD, 2:37) – In this extra screen favorite Etta Candy gets the boys back together for a secret mission that could impact humanity’s future.  Another bar brawl happens in this familiar scenery, but this time Diana is not there to save the day.  It’s Etta’s turn!  Oh snap!  Is that a drawing of a mother box?
  • Crafting the Wonder (HD, 16:22) – Woohoo!  Wonder Woman finally comes to life in her first, breathtaking solo film.  In the brief 16-minute extra here we explore the journey to create an adventure worthy of DC’s greatest warrior from exploring themes, backstories, effects, costumes, props, imagery, making of moments and so much more.  This one is a MUST-WATCH!  This one makes me want to buy the God Killer replica sword from Sideshow Collectibles now.  Ha ha.  The set pieces in this look behind-the-scenes are so exquisitely detailed.  It was also interesting to learn there were 38 locations in this film spread across two countries.  Remember that in case I ask you a trivia question at the end of this marathon review.  Patty also looks like an incredible director to work with too as you can literally see here how passionate she is about making this the best, visceral representation ever of Wonder Woman.
  • A Director’s Vision: Themyscira: The Hidden Island (HD, 4:51) – We take a look at various cool pieces of concept art as to how Patty and artists envisioned this hidden island while closely studying the origin material from the comics.  The beautiful island used for Wonder Woman’s home land is in Italy.  So basically we see firsthand how this entire world was brought to life in this extra.  Exciting stuff!
  • A Director’s Vision: Beach Battle (HD, 4:52) – Patty Jenkins continues showing us her passion for this project as her direction on set here is intense.  She shows off her storyboards and all the pre-visualizations here in this extra.  This extra takes us through the rehearsal process, how they made less look like more onscreen and the complications of filming this epic fight scene across two different beaches.  I don’t know about you, but that’s a problem I’d like to have.
  • A Director’s Vision: A Photograph Through Time (HD, 5:03) – This one is all about that famous photo that binds BvS and Wonder Woman together in the DCEU.  Through this photo Wonder Woman becomes the first superhero with history as Patty Jenkins details there is no superhero that predates 1917.  This is the real deal folks.  Authenticity is the key here as all the props are real in this still photograph.  If you look hard enough, you can see Mr. Snyder in the background.  This is so cool!  I want this photo big and framed on my future wall in Vegas.
  • A Director’s Vision: Diana in the Modern World (HD, 4:35) – This one addresses 1917 and the time of how women fit into society with the complexity of Wonder Woman coming into this society for the very first time.  We also go into the department store where Diana sees for the first time what women’s fashion looks like.  You can’t help but fall in love with her here.  We also go to various other real locations to see where certain scenes were shot.
  • A Director’s Vision: Wonder Woman at War (HD, 4:59) – This one starts with my very favorite sequence in the film, “No Man’s Land.”  Poor Gal.  She was on set here in her skimpy Wonder Woman outfit in the dead of winter.  What a trooper!  I want the job of the person who gets to give Gal her jacket to put on between each take.  Please!

In the below extras we join director Patty Jenkins as she takes you on even more exclusive journeys through Wonder Woman’s most pivotal and exciting moments:

  • Warriors of Wonder Woman (HD, 9:49) – Here you will witness the creation of the Amazon army as the women of Wonder Woman transform emotionally and physically into the world’s most powerful and heroic warriors.  I love how they make the comparison here to the ultimate training movie, 300!  They give us the backgrounds too of the some of the key Amazonian actors here.
  • The Trinity (HD, 16:01) – In this extra the filmmakers and comic book creators explore the legend of Wonder Woman and how she stands shoulder to shoulder with Superman and Batman to create the pillars of the DC Universe or in other words as I like to call them “The Holy Trinity.”  They deep dive into the psychologies and perspectives of what makes up each of the three respective characters here, but much of the focus is on Wonder Woman and how different she is compared to others because she doesn’t grow up seeking revenge for something.  I love how they show the famous “No Man’s Land” walk Gal does in the film, which is done on a treadmill by the way.  They also examine the comic books and how Wonder Woman changes in all of them depending upon the writer.
  • The Wonder Behind the Camera (HD, 15:31) – This one is all about the women and in this one you’ll meet the women behind the wonder as they welcome a group of aspiring filmmakers on set for an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experience.  As you know our movie is not only directed by a woman, Patty Jenkins, but also told from the perspective of a woman.  Half the crew were actually women.  I think you know where I’m going here, gender equality.  However, we are told that Patty selected the best people for the job not just women.  We go behind the scenes here too and look at all the wonder the women did on this movie and the passions put into it all.  I really want some of this concept art on my walls.  I gotta say though in all honesty I have so much respect for Patty after watching all these extras.  Thank you Patty for everything you did here.
  • Finding the Wonder Woman Within (HD, 23:04) – This extra will make you feel the power of Wonder Woman as award-winning poets and inspiring public figures reveal the impact and importance of DC’s greatest heroine.  I like the stills of Gal Gadot throughout, but this one is a lot of talking heads talking about all the positive characteristics of Wonder Woman such as grace, courage, wisdom and wonder.  I’m not really a fan of all the stand up poetry throughout here.  Oh well not all extras can be exciting making of docs.
  • Extended Scenes (HD) – There are a total of 4 Deleted/Extended scenes to be found here: Boat Conversation (3:33), Charlie Never Sleeps (:50), Morning at the Train Station (1:09) and Parliament Steps (1:10).
  • Blooper Reel (HD, 5:33) – Two things are immediately evident upon watch this blooper real.  Number one Chris Pine can’t mount a horse.  And number two, Gal Gadot had an absolute blast filming this one.  Her laugher is infectious and I could easily watch an hour or more of her tomfoolery on the set.  More Gal please!

Wonder Woman

Summary

There you have it boys and girls.   This one’s going to continue to make mad money on home media and many prepubescent girls are going to have a new role model in their lives not to mention many first crushes for young boys (mine was Heather Thomas on The Fall Guy and of course Princess Leia).  Yes, this Wonder Woman kills, but don’t hold that against her.  This isn’t the 1970’s anymore.  Embrace modern times!  Speaking of modern times, how about this 4K UHD Blu-ray package?  Not too shabby, huh?  How about the package on Gal Gadot?  Ha ha.  I can’t say enough rave things about Wonder Woman from the triumphant story it is to the 4K’s showcase presentation of Gal’s assets with a bombastic Dolby Atmos surround track to boot.  And those extras.  Wow!  There’s a lot there.  This one is simply a MUST-OWN!
