Delco: The Movie Arrives on DVD on June 23! A Charming, Coming-of-Age Tale Inspired by Clerks

Written, directed, produced, and edited by Delco (Delaware County, PA) native Chris Pierdomenico, the film follows three lifelong friends as they embark on one wild night that starts with familiar small-town rituals: late-night Wawa runs, backroads, and corner-bar laughs – but becomes a deeper story about friendship, self-discovery, and what it really means to belong.

Delco: The Movie is a heartfelt, irreverent, and proudly local coming-of-age dramedy that captures the humor, grit, and identity of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Three friends set out for one wild night, discovering friendship, identity and
hometown pride in this heartfelt coming-of-age tale.

Coming to streaming services (SVOD/AVOD/YVOD) on Sept 22, 2026

Conceived when Pierdomenico was just a teenager and inspired by Kevin Smith’s Clerks, the movie evolved over two decades into a love letter to the place that raised him – a reflection of the love-hate pull so many feel toward their hometown. The story centers on Wayne, a restless Delco everyman wrestling with who he is and what “the Delco way” truly means: jumping first, asking questions later.

Shot entirely on location throughout Delaware County, the film makes the community itself a character, featuring real landmarks like the Tom Jones Family Restaurant, Brookhaven Police Department, Media Theatre, and Wawa. It’s packed with inside jokes and authentic local flavor, from the accent to the attitude, creating a world that feels lived-in, familiar, and fiercely proud.

The ensemble cast bridges cult-classic nostalgia and local authenticity, including Brian O’Halloran (Clerks), Brian Anthony Wilson (The Wire), Brian Dunkleman (American Idol), Jenna Kuerzi, Steve Harding, and Jeff Pfeiffer. Together they bring warmth, humor, and raw honesty to a story that’s both uniquely Delco and universally relatable.

Premiering to sold-out crowds at the Media Theatre, Delco: The Movie has been celebrated for its sincerity, humor, and heart – proof that independent filmmaking can still speak directly to its roots. For anyone who’s ever had complicated feelings about where they’re from, this film is a reminder that even the smallest hometowns can shape the biggest parts of who we are.
