Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ Hits Theaters Christmas 2012

His name is Django.  The ‘D’ is silent.  Alright ramblers, lets get ramblin’.  If Brian can put up posts about the latest trailer for Step Up 4, then I guess I might as well put up a post about the latest from writer/director Quentin Tarantino.  Django Unchained hits theaters this Christmas and it is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year.  The film is a western (of sorts) that stars Academy Award winners Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz as a former slave and a German bounty hunter, who have teamed up to take down an evil plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.  Of course, this being a Tarantino film, expect plenty of other genre-defying antics to come up as well.  Continue on to see the first official trailer and some pictures from the upcoming film.

Alright, so anyone who is already a fan of Tarantino can clearly see his stamp all over this film.  Even if the trailer does not highlight the dialogue aspect, which is always a staple of Tarantino films, there is enough style and juxtaposition regarding the tone and setting that makes it clear that this movie will most likely be a blast to watch.  And of course, having actors like Foxx and DiCaprio jump into the world of Tarantino, along with bringing back Waltz (who is just ridiculously good in Inglourious Basterds), only makes things all the more exciting to see for me.  I am also excited to finally see more of a full western from Tarantino.  He has been making films that contain many similar themes and stylish qualities akin to a western (specifically spaghetti westerns) for years, so now we get to see him fully embrace the genre, regardless of how many other film styles he may decide to try and incorporate as well.  Anyway, the film opens December 25, 2012, just in time for the holidays, check out some more pictures from the film below.

You’re right. Can’t go wrong with Waltz!
It will be interesting to see Leo and Foxx in a Tarantino film.

Man, Tarantino doing a Western. Legit.

Lots of problems with actors bailing on this project and I know not why. I just saw the trailer tonight for the first time and I’m eager to see it.
