Irredeemable Dark, Destructive & Entertaining

Studios did exactly that with their release of Irredeemable; a story about a super-human being known as the Plutonian whose initial intentions lie in the heroic, but fall to the demented.
Originally viewed as a champion of Earth, the caped hero donned in red and white prevented mass destruction, saving countless lives on numerous occasions, all the while dealing with society’s sarcastic quips, cut-downs, and general ungratefulness along the way. The Plutonian tried to let the barrage of negativity roll off his back as his exterior maintained a smile for the cameras. But when strangers and friends alike turn their back on increasingly distraught crusader, get ready for a personality overhaul of epic proportions.
The once-hero-now-villain unleashes hell on society as well as his former teammates without restraint in this engrossing page-turner. With a script brilliantly assembled by Mark Waid, former writer on The Flash and Captain America, we the readers are presented with a dark story of one hero’s goodwill that, through social contamination, no longer exists. The outcome is nothing short of sadistic. Currently the story rests at two volumes with the first released in July of 2009. Its follow-up came out in March of 2010 while volumes 3 and 4 are due to arrive this July and November respectively.
If there is one graphic novel that I highly recommend, it is Irredeemable. My only complaint in this is that when I finished volume 1, I did not have volume 2 in my library to continue onward.
