FATHER KNOWS BEST: THE COMPLETE SERIES,

B.B. KING: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, AND MORE

STREAMING ON SHOUT! FACTORY TV JUNE 1

Father Knows Best (Shout TV)

Enter the perfect family life of a General Insurance agent Jim Anderson.  Beginning in 1954, Jim would come home from his office, take off his sports jacket, put on his comfortable sweater, and deal with the everyday problems of a growing family without breaking a sweat.  His picture perfect wife Margaret is a vibrant mother of three – Betty, Bud and Kathy. To the millions who watched the six-time Primetime Emmy®-winning Father Knows Best, starring Robert Young and Jane Wyatt; Elinor Donahue, Bill Gray and Lauren Chapin, this long running TV sitcom not only captured the hearts of American viewers, but also stood as the representation of mid-century traditional family values.

In 1949, Father Knows Best? first premiered as a NBC radio sitcom. The series star Robert Young and producer Eugene B. Rodney transplanted the popular radio series into television (minus the question mark in the show’s title). The TV sitcom Father Knows Bestpremiered on CBS in October 1954 and has been part of the American cultural fabric ever since.

The depiction of a “typical” mid-century, middle-class, Midwestern American family from Father Knows Best is fondly remembered by many of us who grew up watching the show and rather enviously thinking: “Oh. So this is what happens in all the other houses.”   Jim Anderson (Robert Young) became the idealized American dad for many generations. Margaret Anderson (Jane Wyatt) charmed us as the levelheaded domestic diva who stood faithfully behind the strong and benevolent father. Their three children—sophisticated teen Betty (Elinor Donahue), chronically befuddled 14-year-old brother “Bud” (Billy Gray) and precocious little sister Kathy (Lauren Chapin)—faced the challenges of growing up right alongside of us. And in episode after episode, Jim and Margaret treated their children’s youthful transgressions with authority, empathy and wisdom. By the end of each half hour, we’d all learned our lesson.

B.B. KING: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2011

On June 28, 2011, the “King of the Blues” B.B. King played to an adoring sold-out crowd at London’s spectacular Royal Albert Hall. It was another unforgettable night in the career of one of the most legendary bluesmen to ever pick up a guitar.

Joining the illustrious Mr. King onstage were guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks, “songbird extraordinaire” Susan Tedeschi, The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall and former Guns N’ Roses axeman Slash.

B.B. and friends delighted the London crowd with favorites “I Need You So,” “Key To The Highway” and “The Thrill Is Gone,” trading solos, verses and endless admiration. The magical evening concluded with everyone onstage participating in a rousing rendition of “When The Saints Go Marching In.”

Factory TV for a month-long special event this June.

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000

This May, Shout! Factory TV presents two classic MST3K episodes available exclusively month-long!

Multiple Emmy®-nominated and Peabody Award-winning Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) is a true cult classic. Its high-camp rendition of B-movies from every genre to the small screen makes it one of the most memorable pop culture shows of our time. Brimming with laugh-out-loud commentaries from caustically hilarious space travelers Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson and their robot pals Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, MST3K was a genuine phenomenon. Its popularity spawned an MST3K fan following that numbers over hundreds of thousands of fans world-wide.

MST3K: Devil Doll

Well … hello Dolly! Before a sold-out audience in London, “The Great Vorelli” performs with his ventriloquist dummy, Hugo. The doll walks on his own. It talks on his own. It even threatens the audience on his own. But is Hugo the real villain? Or could it be that his ventriloquist owner has lost his marbles?

While Pearl and Brain Guy show the Romans how to have a good time at the Lesser God Day celebration, Mike, Crow and Servo invite you to their own open-window frat party! Party it up with the S.O.L. crew, complete with special guests, devil dolls and their own British pub!

MST3K: Teenagers from Outer Space

Joel Hodgson and his band of fellow cynical movie-watchers rise up against the mean Dr. Clayton Forrester and strike again in this vicious and hilarious critique of yet another silly movie. This time, the not-so-expertly-made film on the line features sulky alien teenagers, led by a boy named Derek, who channel their wrath into morphing humans into plastic skeletons by training chintzy-looking guns on them.

But first she needs a royal guard to ensure her safety on the long voyage…

LINE KING: THE AL HIRSCHFIELD STORY

A documentary of the life of artist Al Hirschfeld (1903-2003). While there might still be debate as to whether caricatures are art, anyone who has seen Hirschfeld’s elegant depictions of stage personalities over the years would unequivocably classify them as such. This movie, which took nearly ten years to make, follows the chronology of Hirschfeld’s life closely. It includes many interviews with Hirschfeld himself, his second wife, and his beloved daughter Nina. His drawings had appeared in The New York Times since the 1920s, and they covered the entire modern history of theater in New York City, a fact underscored in this documentary. American actors have long known that one sign of their having “made it” as stage actors, was a published caricature by this charming man.

SECRET AGENT: SEASON 2

Every government has its secret service branch. America, CIA; France, Deuxième Bureau; England, MI5.   NATO also has its own. A messy job? Well that’s when they usually call on me or someone like me. Oh yes, my name is Drake, John Drake.” So begins the dramatic 1960s British spy series Secret Agent. The adventures of John Drake come to Shout! Factory TV this
June with the release of Secret Agent: Season Two.

Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner) stars as John Drake in Secret Agent (known in the United Kingdom as Danger Man), the popular television series from the Golden Age of Spy Thrillers, the 1960s. Travelling the world to capture international criminals, John Drake rarely solved problems with a gun, preferring to use charm and wit over violence to bring in the bad guys.

ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13

Isolated and cut off from the city inside a soon-to-be-closed L.A. police station, a group of police officers and convicts must join forces to defend themselves against the gang called Street Thunder, who have taken a blood oath to kill someone trapped inside the precinct.

From John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing and Prince Of Darkness), Assault On Precinct 13 combines the elements of a classic western and a modern thriller to create a riveting cult classic.
