Factory brings Sebastian Maniscalco’s uproarious special Aren’t You Embarrassed? to DVD and CD, along with new behind-the-scenes bonus features, filmed before the show. In his highly anticipated follow-up to What’s Wrong With People? celebrated comedian Sebastian Maniscalco now asks Aren’t You Embarrassed? In this hysterically funny, all-new comedy event, Maniscalco returns home to Chicago to perform in front of a sold-out audience where no topic is off-limits. With his inimitable delivery, he skewers modern-day society through the lens of his old-world Italian-American upbringing. From reviewing restaurants online to the spectacle that is Chipotle, Maniscalco has us laughing as we believe that perhaps we all should be just a little embarrassed.
Maniscalco commands the stage with a presence The New York Times described as “giddily animated by a flamboyant, even graceful physicality,” and the self-proclaimed ‘half-Sicilian, half-Italian’ still has a Chicago accent despite moving to Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Observing a modern world that “doesn’t match my upbringing,” Maniscalco eviscerates everything from selfies that he calls “lonelies” (“Do you know how alone you have to be to have 838 photos of yourself in your bathroom?”) to airport baggage-check weight requirements (“I’m taking out a boot, a sock, a toothpaste, does anyone know what two pounds is?”).
