Listen to WaterTowerMusic’s Exclusive ‘Man of Steel’ Soundtrack Preview
I was just texting back and forth between reviewer Aaron Neuwirth the other day how excited I am about this movie. Bash me all you want, but the surprise hit for me thus far this year has been the sic-fi thriller Oblivion. I just can’t get enough of that gorgeous flick and can’t wait to knock down my neighbors’ walls when I finally have that Blu-ray release in my grubby, long-fingered hands. But like I said, falling head over heels for that film was VERY MUCH a surprise. I already got burned on my huge expectations I had for The Hangover Part III, but I have faith in producer Christopher Nolan to do the right thing and not to let me down as I have not been this pumped about a film since last year’s Dark Knight Rises. Of course, I’m talking about Man of Steel, which openes in just two mere weeks…less than that really. Can you believe it?
If there’s one thing the Dark Knight movies did right, amongst the many elements we could dissect and debate about, it was their scores or soundtracks to the lay person. Say what you want about the legendary John Williams. Sure he’s brilliant, but we all have our time in the sun. And that time belongs to the man Hans Zimmer now. I have never been one much for collecting orchestrated scores except for the Star Wars soundtracks, but the Dark Knight trilogy and even the Oblivion soundtrack is very much an exception for me. So I searched high and low on the World Wide Web hoping to be able to stream and take in the full-length Man of Steel soundtrack, but no cigar. I found a couple full length tracks here and there, but for the most part all I found were samples, save for a few full-length sneak peaks. As teasing as they are, the one below is your best bet if you want to preview the entire regular 17-track edition of the soundtrack and I have also embedded the 2 full-length ones I found too. There’s also a deluxe edition of the soundtrack that supposedly features 7 or so more tracks. As always, I have charitably included the links to purhcase the Man of Steel soundtrack from the brilliant Hans Zimmer below. Enjoy!
Full-length version of “DNA”:
From what I can tell this one is called “An Ideal Hope,” the track that many of us are familiar with from the trailer. Let your inner geek come out!
