R.I.P. Brittany Murphy 1977-2009
Don’t worry. I am not posting this to make a shameless plug to capitalize on Brittany Murphy Blu-ray sales, but instead I simply wanted to express my condolences for Hollywood’s loss of a much-adored actress on Sunday. Brittany may not have been a favorite of mine, but I always respected her for her talent and unique acting style that lent itself well to the vicious tales told in one of my most revered films of all-time, Sin City. Although she has starred in nearly forty movies in her short career, for some reason I will always remember her most from that scene between her and Eminem in 8 Mile. Geez. I wonder why?
Anyway, I am sure you heard the whole ordeal already about her passing away from cardiac arrest at the tender young age of only 32, so I won’t be repetitive. I simply wanted to show my respect to an actress that will be immensely missed by her fans. Much to my surprise, today I learned that she will be appearing in Slyvester Stallone’s The Expendables next August. So the world will get one more glimpse of her surrounded by an all-star cast of nostalgic action heroes. I cannot wait!
Ashton Kutcher, who once was romantically linked to the actress, had the following to say about her today on Twitter. “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine,” Kutcher wrote. “My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon.”
In conclusion, I wanted to share a few pictures below of the talented actress from my favorite role of hers as Shellie in 2005’s Sin City. Rest in peace Brittany. We will miss you.
