Rush Hour Speeds Onto Blu-ray This Winter
Now here’s a catalog flick that is a definite must-own for my Blu-ray collection. Merry Christmas Brian. Warner Home Video has announced a December 7th Blu-ray release date for the New Line movie Rush Hour. This Brett Ratner action comedy stars the martial arts of Jackie Chan and the hilarious antics of Chris Tucker. These two cracked me up when I first saw them onscreen together and still do to this very day. Can anyone say Rush Hour 4? C’mon! Currently, there has been no announcement about a Rush Hour 2 Blu-ray release. Rush Hour 3 is already available on Blu-ray (circa 2007). Check out the extras you will find below on this comedic action packed Blu-ray release.
Special features include:
- Commentary by director Brett Ratner
- Additional scenes
- Featurette gallery: A Piece of the Action: Behind the Scenes of Rush Hour
- Brett Ratner’s short film: What Ever Happened to Mason Reese?

What a great action film! I am pre-ordering this tonight. If there’s any downside to it, it’s that this was the ONLY good movie in the Rush Hour franchise. Part two took a dive and three was just plain garbage. Even Jackie Chan said he regretted doing that last one.
Yeah, just the first one for me. Here’s hoping that WB releases Money Talks soon as well.
I can agree the second one was not that hot, but my family and I LOVE the third film. I’m not sure what it is about it, but on a precaution taken from the advice of a certain friend I rented this way back when on DVD. After one watch, I found a home for it in my Blu-ray collection. However, I can at least agree, none of the sequels were ever as good as this first film.
Praise for Money Talks = Praise from me. That movie is hilarious.
