There was a lot of things going on in the world of Blu-ray today. First off is an announcement from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, which set a November 17th Blu-ray release date for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas. Fox also announced plans to bring the 1997 Robert Downey Jr. film Two Girls and a Guy to the Blu-ray format on November 3rd. Universal Studios also slammed the world of Hi-Def media with two Blu-ray announcements today. First, they declared a October 20th release date for Kevin Costner’s Waterworld and October 13th date for the Will Ferrell comedy Land of the Lost. Last but not least, perhaps the biggest news of the day, is the following announcement. It has finally happened! No, hell did not freeze over, but HD DVD’s Toshiba has officially applied to join the Blu-ray Disc Association. Hmmm…should they let them in? The drama continues…
