‘Adore’ Naomi Watts on Blu-ray This December
I remember when our Paramount PR peson first sent me the trailer to this film, I checked it out instantly and my curiosity was elevated immediately. It had such a twisted and convoluting plot line that I thought this just has to be interesting. I resisted reading any reviews or checking it out On Demand in hopes that in time it would receive a proper Blu-ray release and as I found out today it will this December…the 10th to be exact. Yea! So for anyone that’s interested in this provocative drama starring Naomi Watts and Robin Wright, make sure you check out the full press release below for more information and heck oh why not…pre-order Adore today!
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – The compelling and provocative drama ADORE makes its Blu-ray, DVD and Digital debut on December 10, 2013 from Paramount Home Media Distribution. Starring Naomi Watts (The Impossible, Eastern Promises) in “a brave and vulnerable performance” and Robin Wright (Moneyball, “House of Cards”) delivering “a career-high acting master class” (Damon Wise, The Guardian), the film marks the English-language directorial debut of Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel). Written for the screen by Academy Award®-winner Christopher Hampton
(Best Adapted Screenplay, Dangerous Liaisons, 1988), ADORE is based on a novel by Nobel Prize for Literature winner Doris Lessing.
Set in an Australian seaside town of otherworldly beauty, ADORE follows two women’s plunge into uncharted waters as they explore the intricacies of love, family, morality and passion. Watts and Wright deliver riveting performances as two life-long friends who become romantically involved with each other’s sons. The film also stars Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Loved Ones) and James Frecheville (Animal Kingdom).
The ADORE Blu-ray is presented in 1080p high definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and English, English SDH and Spanish subtitles. The DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 TVs with English 5.1 Dolby Digital and English and Spanish subtitles.
My second favorite film of the year behind Polley’s Stories We Tell. I’ve rented this flick twice since it hit VOD. Still can’t get over it.
Thanks for chiming in Cory. I have not talked to anybody who has seen this so I’m glad you let me know how much you loved it. I hope I do too!
I don’t know what this one is about but if they’re going to spend the entire film sunbathing then count me in!
