Dive Deeper Into Alice in Wonderland’s Rabbit Hole
This one was announced a few days back, but I wanted to get this out for all the Depp fans out there. While I did not get a chance to catch Alice in Wonderland theatrically two of our reviewers did. You can see their reviews here and here. So without further ado I wanted to let you all know that Disney has announced a June 1st release date for the Blu-ray debut of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. We have provided the full press release below that outlines everything you can expect to find in the Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy).
Burbank, Calif., April 16, 2010 – Following a record-breaking theatrical performance, Tim Burton’s epic fantasy adventure ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Disney’s 4th biggest film of all time, takes its booming box-office success into the home with a Disney 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy), 1-Disc Blu-ray and 1-Disc DVD on June 1, 2010, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE).
The ALICE IN WONDERLAND Blu-ray Disc Combo Pack provides audiences with the chance to experience a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time in pristine 1080p picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 HD surround sound quality and has been especially packaged with family and fans in mind – with lots of exciting bonus features and an extra DVD and Digital Copy of the movie.
The Blu-ray Disc versions of the film include nine bonus features that take viewers deeper into the famous “Rabbit Hole” – exploring more of the world of Wonderland, its iconic characters and the making of the film. Features include the making of the Futterwacken Dance, a look inside the world of the Mad Hatter and Johnny Depp’s transformation, Tim Burton’s vision for the movie and its characters, the visual effects of growing and shrinking of Alice, costume designs, music, stunts and more.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I thought this was the best 3D movie I ever experienced. Without it, the movie loses a lot in translation. I don’t know if I can pull the ‘buy’ trigger on this one.
See this has me baffled, especially since Alice was not even filmed in true 3D…I don’t think it was. No one really loved this one so I will probably sit this one out.
Really, Gregg? I’m getting it just for the 2-D presentation, like Brian mentioned, it wasn’t even filmed in 3-D. They did a Clash of the Titans thing. Of course they had more time to do it right, but it’s still a conversion.
I still haven’t seen the movie but it always seems to be rented when I try to get it at Blockbuster, so evidently many are still loving it! Isn’t it strange though that they made this for adults as I have been told it will scare the
ba-gebbies off of the little ones.
