BOYHOOD Cut To “Hero” Song For a Music Video

boyhoodWith the Oscars still on my mind, it was nice to see so much love for Richard Linklater’s Boyhood in the form of 6 nominations, which we at Why So Blu were also big fans of (Check out our reviews HERE and HERE).  Now, Family of the Year’s hit song “Hero” has been cut to footage of the film, making for a nice little music video.  Continue on to check it out for yourself!

With their Billboard radio chart debut, Family Of The Year saw “Hero” reach #1 on the Triple A Top 30 Radio Chart, sitting Top 5 for a record-breaking four months.  “Hero” also landed Top 10 at Alternative Radio.  With the release of Loma Vista, Family Of The Year performed “Hero” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,Jimmy Kimmel Live!,CONAN and Last Call With Carson Daly. Also,MTV2 added Family Of The Year as an “Artist To Watch” and USA Today featured the band in their “On The Verge”  column. All this follows other emerging artist features with Entertainment Weekly,Billboard, Amazon, Interview Magazine, Paste, SonicBids and more. Formed in 2009, Family Of The Year is Joe Keefe (lead vocals, guitars), Sebastian Keefe (drums, vocals), James Buckey(guitars, vocals) and Christina Schroeter (keyboards, vocals).

Written and directed by Richard Linklater, Boyhood – now nominated for 6 Academy Awards –  has appeared on more “best of 2014” lists than any other film released last year.  The award-winning film continues to win best picture awards from numerous film critic circles – including New York, Los Angeles, DC, Boston, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and more.  Filmed over short periods from 2002 to 2013 with the same cast – Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette, Lorelei Linklater and Ellar Coltrane – Boyhood is the story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (Coltrane).  Boyhood is now available in theaters, on Digital HD, Cable VOD, Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD.
