Amazon Exclusive Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Blu-ray Combo Pack (Review)
Before we begin here let me ask you guys this. Have you ever heard the phrase hiding in the spotlight? Well I got to be honest with you. This Warner Bros./Amazon Exclusive Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Blu-ray set brings that phrase to life. I mean at least for me it does and here’s why. Don’t let that $116 price tag fool you. That’s an absolute bargain for what you’re getting here. I think it goes without saying that you’re getting the Blu-ray Combo Pack which includes the Theatrical and Extended Cut of Suicide Squad on Blu-ray disc, a DVD and a Digital HD redemption code. However, all that is secondary to the real treasure inside this big box. You’re also getting the long sold out and highly sought after DC Collectibles Harley Quinn Suicide Squad statue. It’s such a rare find anymore that it’s not even on the DC Collectibles website any longer. You can see the exact statue plus a video turnaround of it by visiting here. But that’s not it! I want to further blow your mind. The limited edition statue’s retail price was $154.99 and is going well over $200 on eBay and Amazon third parties currently.
So you’re probably wondering what’s the catch here? Well that’s the beautiful part. There is none! You’re literally getting the same 12″ tall (not including base) DC Collectibles Harley Quinn Suicide Squad statue in the Blu-ray Combo Set for nearly $40 less. You’re probably asking yourself how is that possible? I honestly don’t know how this Amazon Exclusive edition is not long sold out either. If collectors only knew the truth that this is the very same statue as the long sold out solo figurine one, it would quickly be a saintly relic too. Now I’d be lying if I didn’t fill you in on the one main difference that separates the long sold out figurine and the Amazon Exclusive one found in this box. It’s all about the base. No I am not talking the surround track’s bass, but rather the base this figurine stands on. Well cover it in more detail down below in the images, but rest assured other than that both versions of the figurines are identical to my knowledge.
I’m going to kind of be a bit repetitive here if you already read my review of the Joker and Harley Quinn DC Collectibles statue last week here, but it’s necessary housekeeping to ensure everyone is up to speed. So if you’ve seen DC Comics’ Academy Award winning film Suicide Squad last year, then there’s no denying that Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) absolutely steals the show. In fact even if you hated the movie as a whole it’s impossible to dis Margot’s performance throughout. Needless to say I’m a little late to this party as this Amazon Exclusive DC Collectibles Harley Quinn Suicide Squad statue we’re gathered here today to discuss came out in December 2016, but I’m just getting my hands on it today. Therefore, it’s all new to me. Sculpted by James Marsano this DC Collectibles 12″ tall statue of Harley Quinn is based on the intricate detail likeness of Margot Robbie from last summer’s Warner Bros. Suicide Squad film. If you need a recap of the movie, try this brief summary/teaser DC provides us with below.
It feels good to be assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. Intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened Group of disparate, Despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every Man for himself?
Before we get into the unboxing of this exclusive figurine I’d be shooting myself in the foot here if I didn’t talk about the Blu-ray Combo Set included too. I’m not going to take the time to go into detail about the Blu-ray release itself, but if you’re interested in how things look and sound here, not to mention all the extras, please check out my humungous 4K Ultra HD review of the entire set here. Now that we got that all out of the way I don’t see any reason why we can’t get into the good stuff here. Do you? Any objections? Good! I don’t hear any. Follow me down below as I take you through every step of the way while I unbox this Amazon Exclusive Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Blu-ray Combo set and share with you some of Miss Quinn’s best attributes. Here we go!

The first thing you notice is the shipping box you’ll likely receive this Blu-ray/statue set in. It’s no doubt property of Warner Bros. Entertainment, but notice the odd sticker on it for displaying on December 13, 2016. Is it me or does it seems out of place for something not found in retail stores, but on the Internet?
*
Below are the sides of the Amazon Exclusive Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Blu-ray Combo Pack cardboard box that holds our DC Collectibles treasure inside.
*
The back of the box is shown below as the info graphic up above is removable from it and just held on by the small circle of tape on the top of the box. You have to take it off anyway to open this box.
*
And here’s the top of the box. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait! Let’s crack this baby open already!
*
The first thing you’ll find at the very top of the box upon opening is the sealed Blu-ray Combo Set of the film complete with slip cover. I’ll keep this copy sealed in my collection along with the Best Buy 4K Ultra HD Steelbook set too. Ha ha. I know I am sick!
*
As you can see everything is housed securely in a styrofoam enclosure. The word TOP in the styrofoam should display upwards before carefully cutting the tape around the edges.
*
After carefully cutting around the tape and opening the styrofoam sides below is how you’ll find things wrapped up. Now let’s start unwrapping things.
*
I wanted to say a few words about the base below. This is the only difference here between the long sold out DC Collectibles version seen here. In my opinion it is nowhere near as nice as the more solid/heftier one that comes with the official DC Collectibles versions of the Suicide Squad characters. Click here to see a closeup of those bases. This Amazon version while cool in appearance feels a bit cheap. It should be noted that the underside of the base has 4 rubber feet on it for stability and traction.
*
Boom! And here we are! It’s quite simple to snap Harley’s left foot into the base. That’s all there is to it. Now let’s take a closer look at all her attributes below.
*
Take a look at all the intricate details below such as those real fishnet stockings, fabric undies, visible tattoos, the E-V-I-L written on her left fingernails, the J zipper on her coat and of course that beautiful Puddin choker (our chihuahua also named Puddin’ has this same replica choker proudly on display on her cage letting everyone know it’s her domain). Be careful with the spike bracelet on her bat holding hand as it does rotate on her wrist.
*
Let’s take a look behind the scenes here too. LOL. Notice Harley’s slightly visible tattoo on her back side as well as lettering on the back of her satin jacket. Remember…it’s the little things that kill like Bush always said. I love those ADIDAS high tops too. Harley has great taste in style.
*
Last but not least I thought it would be fun to show you a side-by-side comparison of this statue sculpt versus the Joker/Harley duo one I reviewed here. Noticeable differences right away include the rips in her t-shirt, thickness of eye brows and of course that cheaper looking base.
*
All in all I’m really happy with this Amazon Exclusive DC Collectibles Harley Quinn Suicide Squad statue/Blu-ray Combo Set. From the price tag it can be had at (currently sitting at $116.99 at the time of this writing on Amazon) to the Margot Robbie likeness and sculpt of the figure you really can’t ask for anything more. Can you? I had a fun time reviewing this and I’m hoping DC Collectibles sends me some more to detail and critique for you all here. Until then I hope you enjoyed this collectible review here on the site and if you’re interested in this limited edition piece (I assume they have a limited number made of this one and Deadshot) before it sells out, hit up the link down below and bring this collector piece/Blu-ray set home today. Thanks for reading! However, if video is more your style, hit up this video review of this Blu-ray statue set over here. It’s a fun watch.

There’s another difference between this and the “regular” version. This one has the “Rotten” tattoo on her face, whereas the “regular” version doesn’t.
Thank you! I did not catch that.
