An Exclusive Clip Premiere From ‘Knights of Badassdom’

Knights of BadassdomWow!  You don’t know how long I’ve been patiently waiting for Knights of Badassdom to be released!  I first met Joe Lynch at the premiere of Chillerama at Comic-Con 2011 along with his cohorts Adam Green and Tim Sullivan.  The very next day I talked to the man again at the press only conference for this film.  Some two years later the film has yet to be released.  Just when I was about to give up, late last year, word broke of its eventual release in 2014.  However, I do hear rumors sadly that it’s not the cut Joe Lynch had in mind.  Nevertheless, I am looking forward to some serious LARP action with Peter Dinklage and Ryan Kwanten.  The film will be made available via TUGG on January 21, 2014 and on VOD February 11, 2014.  So while you wait for those dates, why don’t you check out a special clip released online today along with the flick’s synopsis and poster.  Enjoy!

KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM follows three best friends (Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn and Ryan Kwanten) and dedicated LARPers (Live Action Role Players) as they take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario fresh out of the mythical Middle Ages. Trouble arises after they unwittingly conjure up some serious evil in the form of a blood-lusting Succubus, from the pits of hell.

Fantasy and reality collide on the Fields of Evermore in an all-out epic battle of make-believe wizards, demons and assorted mythical creatures. Their courage and friendship is put to the test as they attempt to vanquish the evil they have summoned. Will the group prove to simply be foam sword-wielding LARPers, or true “Knights of Badassdom?”

It’s too bad this is, according to many, a severely compromised cut of the film that Joe Lynch did not approve of and is not happy with. Makes the whole release incredibly bittersweet and kinda disappointing

I know Brandon. I heard the same thing. And while I’m scared to see the final product, I’m also very curious and intrigued too especially after being so intimately involved in this a couple years back. Can’t be as bad as Transformers 2 can it?

  3. Aaron Neuwirth

    …how intimately involved were you?

  4. Brian White

I was hanging with Joe and his wife + baby throughout the press conference so I consider myself very intimate. Please let me have this 15 minutes of fame! It’s all I have in life 🙁

  5. Brandon Peters

Why would you compare this to Transformers 2?

  6. Brian White

Because that movie was a mess! Do you think Bay wanted Shia to break his hand in real life and then ruin the botched up story.

  7. Brandon Peters

Okay…but that was a mess before it went to post production

This is being released as a “Producer’s Cut.” I’m sort of surprised that Lynch didn’t go out all Alan Smithee on this version.
