New Marvel Titles & Free Comic Book Day
With Free Comic Book Day a little over a month away, comic book publishers are busy promoting their titles that will be released on the fan-favorite, unofficial holiday. Until then, there is still plenty to get excited over, especially from the good folks over at Marvel who always have a slew of new titles up their sleeve. With a new series released this week, free titles on the horizon and an old face getting his own series this spring, there is indeed plenty to prepare for, Bub. Snikt!
Marvel has already announced two of its books that will be available on Free Comic Book Day, which falls on May 2nd this year. The Marvel goods include an X-Men title and another featuring the Amazing Spider-Man and Venom. Both of these are more than just a gimme this May, however. The X-Men book is the launchpad for a game-changing event that will take place this summer for all mutants.

The web crawler comic combines two tales that, like it’s X-Men counterpart, will also be a catalyst for upcoming stories later in the year. Look for these storylines to be a starting point for the upcoming adventures involving Spider-Man, Black Cat and Venom.

The news doesn’t stop there though. And speaking of not stopping, the king of momentum is back! This May, Cain Marko plows his way back into the spotlight in his long-awaited return to a solo series.
Marvel describes the upcoming muscle-bound title:
A mystic gem. A force of overwhelming power. Nothing can stop the Juggernaut. Except himself. Another building falls…but Cain Marko is done letting others pick up the pieces of the things he’s destroyed.
So how does this story begin? The spectacular scribe Nicieza told IGN exactly how. “After years of back and forth and madness and sadness, [Juggernaut] had become a member in good standing of the X-Men, and then while he’s away dancing in Limbo, mutantkind gets everything they could have ever hoped for…and Cain can’t be a part of that,” he notes. “How he reacts to that rejection becomes the exploration of who he is going to become without the one thing that—for good and bad—has defined him for most of his life.”
