Percy Jackson and the Really Long Title
The latest in the string of children’s fantasy books adapted into big screen adventures is Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief starring Logan Lerman, Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman and Rosario Dawson among others. The film is directed by Chris Columbus of the Home Alone franchise. Some are calling it a Harry Potter knockoff, but here’s why I don’t think so.

Hmmm…despite your mostly positive review of the film, I am still frightened by it! Being on the Harry Potter is a bore bandwagon, I have no choice but to sit this one out. I do like that it pushed the boundaries of the PG-rating, but other than that I think you visually described a movie I would not be sit through. After reading Gregg’s Wolfman review I feel lucky enough to have at least seen Valentine’s Day this week. Here’s hoping next week’s Shutter Island is a winner!
Hahaha!! I love the heading!
Thanks Gregg!
Wow! I was right! VDay beat out the competition this weekend!
1 – Valentine’s Day
$52,410,000
2 – Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief $31,100,000
3 – The Wolfman
$30,627,000
Yeah yeah yeah.
Well I will say this…at least Percy narrowly beat out The Wolfman. That’s impressive. I would have never bet that one.
Plus I bet the special effects were better too. LOL!
