The Daily Blu…September 10, 2009
Today was another light day in Blu-ray news. Although I only have one announcement to make it really seems like 14. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced their Blu-ray Diamond Collection, which consists of 14 of their most cherished timeless classics on the Blu-ray format. The October 6th Snow White release will be the first one slated as part of the Diamond Collection. Beauty and the Beast and Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are scheduled for sometime in 2010, dates still unknown. Rounding out the rest of the collection into 2011 through 2015 we will be treated to newly remastered Hi-Def classics such as The Lion King, Bambi, Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations and re-released versions of Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio. In addition to the newly remastered footage fans will also be treated to a 1080P video presentation and a 7.1 surround audio package. How’s that for being only 1 news story? That’s all the news I have for today. I have to run and catch a screener premiere of Sorority Row. Wish me luck!
