The Daily Blu…August 17, 2009
It’s been a busy day with lots of Blu-ray home media news to report on so buckle up. Warner Home Video revealed that the November 3rd Blu-ray release of Heat will feature new content changes supervised by director Michael Mann. Disney has announced an October 13th Blu-ray release date for the Touchstone romantic comedy The Proposal. The film, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, will see a 2.35:1 aspect ratio and a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio surround track. A lot of websites are publishing the Blu-ray extras speculated for the November 17th release of one of my all-time favorite films, Fight Club. We will wait to post anything until we get the official scoop from Fox. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Miramax have announced a November 17th Blu-ray release date for Chasing Amy, Clerks and a Kevin Smith Box Set. Sony’s The Taking of Pelham 123 will see a November 3rd Blu-ray release date. The Tony Scott film stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta.
In other news, the film that caught everyone’s attention at Comic-Con 2009, Kick-Ass, has been picked up by one of my favorite movie studios, Lionsgate. You can all sleep sound tonight knowing that Kick-Ass has finally found a distribution deal. Thanks Lionsgate!
