Assassin…Hero…Legend…The Warrior’s Way on Blu-ray!
I remember seeing the billboard ads around town for this flick and thinking to myself, if the poster art is this cool, then hopefully the movie will be too. Well thankfully, my wait to find is out is closely approaching as the visually stunning martial arts film, The Warrior’s Way, will arrive on the Blu-ray format June 28th. The movie stars Geoffrey Rush, Kate Bosworth and Jang Dong Gun. I could make a joke here, but I’m going to keep what’s on my mind to myself for once in my life. So anyway, check out the full press release below from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25) – Experience the intense martial arts action and dazzling visual style when THE WARRIOR’S WAY arrives on Blu-ray and DVD June 28 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Packed with several deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes footage, THE WARRIOR’S WAY stars an all-star cast including Academy Award® winner Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans) and international sensation Jang Dong Gun.
After a lifetime of training in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat, the world’s most dangerous fighter (Jang Dong Gun) flees his homeland to start a new life in the American West. But soon the hunter becomes the hunted, and now the legendary warrior must wage a fierce, all-out battle against a renegade gang of outlaws and pack of murderous assassins from his own past.
Yeah, this one kind of came out of nowhere and left just as quickly. But it does have Geoffrey Rush saying, “Ninjas…damn.” in the trailer
I’m intrigued. It reminds me of a darker version of Sukiyaki Western Django.
Darker? Maybe sillier.
Darker as in the color palette from the trailer that I remember.
I can agree with that.
That’s quite an eclectic cast!
Aaron’s comment about Geoffrey Rush above will probably be the movie’s best scene and line! I don’t mean to be a hater, but this just didn’t look like my cup of tea.
You’re not hating Jim, this movie looked pretty terrible.
