It’s Not Spider-Man, But ‘Carnage’ Makes Its Way To Blu-ray

I honestly have never heard of this film, but LOL…I would be all over a Carnage Blu-ray (as it relates to the Spider-Man universe).  Okay.  The time to be serious has officially begun…NOW!  Alright, so digging into my inbox today I came across this latest press release from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  It says the following and I loosely quote.  “Nominated for Two Golden Globe Awards, Carnage stars Academy Award winners Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and Academy Award Nominee John C. Reilly.  It’s Roman Polansi’s adaptation of the Tony Award-Winning play and it’s available on Blu-ray and DVD March 20th.”  Want to know more?  Good!  You’re in the right place.  Check out the full press release below and pre-order your copy today!

Culver City, Calif. (February 6, 2012) – Carnage, the screen adaptation of Yasmina Reza’s Tony Award-winning Broadway hit, “God of Carnage,” will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD March 20th from Sony Pictures Classics and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Academy Award® winner Roman Polanski (2002, Best Director, The Pianist) directs this sharp and witty comedy of (no) manners” about the human condition and the carnage that is adulthood. Starring an ensemble cast featuring Academy Award® winner Jodie Foster (1988, Best Actress,The Accused), Academy Award® winner Kate Winslet (2008, Best Actress, The Reader), Academy Award® winner Christoph Waltz (2009, Best Supporting Actor, Inglourious Basterds), and Academy Award® nominee John C. Reilly (2002, Supporting Actor, Chicago), the bitterly amusing story focuses on one evening in the lives of two couples locked in a showdown after their children are involved in a playground incident.

Carnage has received two Golden Globe® nominations this season: Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture Comedy Or Musical, for both Foster and Winslet.

A Film Festival favorite this past fall, Carnage, which has a screenplay by Yasmina Reza and Polanski, was produced by SBS Productions and Saïd Ben Saïd (Unforgivable).

The special features include Actors’ Notes, a look at the making of the film, a filmed Q&A with John C. Reilly and Christoph Waltz, and a red carpet featurette.

Synopsis

Carnage, is a razor sharp, biting comedy centered on parental differences. After two boys duke it out on a playground, the “victim’s” parents, liberal writer Penelope Longstreet and her wholesaler husband, Michael (Foster and Reilly), invite the “bully’s” parents, power couple Nancy and Alan Cowan (Winslet and Waltz), over to work out their issues. A polite discussion of childrearing soon escalates into verbal warfare, with all four parents revealing their true colors. None of them will escape the carnage.

Blu-ray & DVD Special Features include:

Actors’ Notes – A Look at the Making of the Film

An Evening with John C. Reilly and Christoph Waltz

On the Red Carpet

Carnage has a run time of approximately 80 minutes and is rated R (for some strong language).
