Comic-Con 2010: DC Comics’ Green Lantern
Most of the time it pays to be a member of press at Comic-Con, but not when it comes to the lines. We must stand in the same lines as everybody else. And so was the tale of our early 7 AM departure on Saturday morning to get the first glimpse of Green Lantern footage before anyone else does. Was it worth standing in line for over 3 hours before getting into Hall H? Hell yeah, you better believe it was!
I’ll be the first to admit, I was very hesitant about this film and really had my doubts about how good this can really be. My suspension of disbelief is pretty hard to maintain as a moviegoer. But thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised by the footage that was screened for us and for the first time, I’m actually looking forward with much anticipation to the May 2011 film that stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard. By the way, all four major cast members were in attendance at the Hall H Saturday morning kick-off extravaganza in addition to director Martin Campbell and writer Geoff Johns (he really went places in life…wow!). Ryan even gave one lucky fan the emerald ring he was personally wearing.
Check out some of the photos below that I was able to snap during the Green Lantern Comic-Con 2010 panel. Enjoy!
