And…drum roll please…those titles just happen to be Cutthroat Island, Replicant, The Ninth Gate and See No Evil. I am personally excited to check out The Ninth Gate on Blu-ray. Cutthroat Island Blu-ray Disc
Cutthroat Island, the fun-filled, action-packed pirate movie starring Academy Award® winner Geena Davis (The Accidental Tourist, Best Supporting Actress, 1988), Emmy® nominee Matthew Modine (HBO’s And the Band Played On) and Academy Award® nominee Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon, Best Leading Actor, 2008), comes to Blu-ray Disc this August. A tidal wave of nonstop excitement, the film is a swashbuckling saga of ruthless pirates, buried treasure and bloodthirsty betrayal. After the death of her father, Morgan Adams (Davis) discovers part of a treasure map tattooed on his head. With the help of William Shaw (Modine), a convict she buys at an auction, Morgan hits the high seas to recover the remaining sections. However, she is not alone: her murderous uncle Dawg (Langella), who holds the puzzle’s final piece, also seeks the gold. The Ninth Gate Blu-ray Disc
The Ninth Gate makes its long-awaited debut on Blu-ray Disc from Lionsgate. Directed by Academy Award® winner Roman Polanski (The Pianist, 2002), the film stars three-time Academy Award® nominee Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Finding Neverland, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) as Dean Corso, an unscrupulous rare-book dealer who is hired to locate the last remaining copies of a demonic manuscript with the power to summon the Devil. Corso must overcome both physical and supernatural obstacles as he finds himself embroiled in a deadly conspiracy and, ultimately, a confrontation with the devil incarnate. The Blu-ray Disc features a newly remastered 1080P High Definition Widescreen presentation of the film and 7.1 DTS HD Master Audio as well as bonus materials that include audio commentary by Polanski, a “making-of” featurette, storyboard selections and a gallery of satanic drawings.
Replicant Blu-ray Disc
The future’s most ruthless killer comes to Blu-ray Disc! Replicant, starring action legend Jean-Claude Van Damme (JCVD), follows the story of a group of scientists that create a genetic clone of a serial killer to help catch the real killer. The Blu-ray Disc includes a newly remastered 1080P High Definition Widescreen version of the film with 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio. The disc also features audio commentary from Van Damme, deleted scenes and storyboards.
During a murder spree, precious DNA is left behind that allows a secret government agency to render a killer’s perfect duplicate. See No Evil Blu-ray Disc
The action-packed film See No Evil makes its Blu-ray Disc debut this August. Directed by award-winning music video director Gregory Dark (Britney Spears, Ice Cube, Outkast) and starring WWE Superstar Kane (TV’s “WWE Judgment Day,”), See No Evil is a terrifying tale about a group of friends who are stalked by a serial killer. The Blu-ray Disc features a newly remastered 1080P High Definition Widescreen version of the film with 7.1 DTS HD Master Audio, as well as exciting bonus features that include audio commentaries, two featurettes and storyboard-to-film comparisons.
Equipped with a rusty steel plate screwed into his skull and razor-sharp fingernails that pluck out his victims’ eyes, reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight is holed up in the long-abandoned and rotting Blackwell Hotel, alone with his nightmares until eight petty criminals show up for community service duty along with the cop who put a bullet in Jacob’s head four years ago.
