Vanquisher Available on Blu-ray and DVD March 8

I love my low budget DTV genre films.  When I got this bit of news it put a smile on my face.  Why?  It’s a typical covert operative betrayal scenario with our lovely heroine who has come back to face unspeakable odds and to put the wrong things right.  I love it!  The eye candy doesn’t hurt either.  Magnolia Films under their Magnet banner will be releasing Vanquisher on Blu-ray and DVD on March 8th.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – In a world of chaos one woman seeks to settle an old score when Vanquisher arrives on Blu-ray and DVD March 8 from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Releasing label. From writer and Director Manop Udomdej (Lizard Woman, Macabre Case of Prom Pi Ram) Vanquisher features rising martial arts action star Sophita Sribanchean, as CIA agent Genja who is betrayed by her own agency and forced into hiding after a covert mission goes awry. Having narrowly escaped an attempt on her life, Genja comes out of hiding and resurfaces in Bangkok with a vengeance to find out who wants her dead and to help stop another fatal crime from happening. The clock is ticking in her pursuit of retribution and justice, and she must fight for her survival as she meets up with old ‘friends’ along the way.

Loaded with extreme martial arts combat and action-fueled battles, the Vanquisher Blu-ray Disc and DVD features bonus materials including deleted scenes and a ‘making-of’ featurette, and will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 and $26.98, respectively.

Synopsis

After completing a covert mission in southern Thailand, fearsome CIA agent Genja finds herself forced to fight off operatives who have been ordered to take her out at all costs. She survives and is forced into hiding. Two years later, Genja re-emerges in Bangkok looking for vengeance and must face her old foes and foil a plot to detonate a bomb in the city.

Low budget DTV movies generally scare me but this might be interesting.

There’s a Thai trailer out there for this, but since it’s not the official one I can’t post it in the PR release. It looks pretty decent, imo.

It’s on youtube. The subtitles are pretty bad, though.
