Boulevard will end up being known as the last dramatic movie that Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society) filmed before he passed away. Really, that is too bad because while not every Robin Williams film is a highly-lauded classic, it is undeniable that he was a talented actor with an impressive range and a flair for providing a pleasantly over-the-top performance and Boulevard squanders that potential. Instead, this film uses a powerful and dynamic actor to tell a boring story with boring scenery and mostly boring performances that says nothing new or interesting about its topic. If you are looking for a nice film to round out the memory of Robin Williams, Boulevard is the wrong road to travel. Continue reading ‘Boulevard (Blu-ray Review)’

Ever since I saw the trailer for The Walk in IMAX at a screen of Mad Max: Fury Road I have been enthralled about seeing it. The weird thing though is I hate heights. However, I’m oddly drawn to that vertigo feeling seeing a film such as The Walk on a large IMAX screen can induce. Is that weird? I think so, but then again I am weird so maybe it only makes sense. Anyway, the time has finally come to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt walk that green screen stretch between at the time in 1974 the very real Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. What say you? You ready to take that death defying plunge in IMAX with me this week? Don’t worry. I assure you Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be just fine. It’s just a movie, and remember, he’s Robin (aka The Boy Wonder) after all. Come on. Put your tightrope walking shoes on and following me in. Over the years, many people whose opinions I don’t trust told me Entourage was a good show. After I watched a second random episode, I pretty much got the gist of it and felt like I didn’t need to see anymore. I read just a little while ago that creator Doug Elin wants to produce two more Entourage films. After watching the first feature film, I have the same reaction I had with the television series. I left the theatre and thought, “I’m good on any more Entourage films.” If Elin wasn’t able to say anything with the first film, I doubt he’ll improve the second time.
