A title is going to be revealed, along with the cast involved. Given that Skyfall was the biggest Bond movie ever, it is exciting to see how the world famous spy is going to follow up that adventure. In years to come, we’re going to look back and forget Marvel was ever “taking a big risk” with Guardians Of The Galaxy. The property was based off one of their most obscure titles and focused on weird galactic space adventure featuring no household name characters. And to lead it all was a lesser proven lead, Chris Pratt. With both the hugely positive response from critics and fans alike along with being the year’s biggest box office success, both those things are soon to change. It’s fantatstic to think this all was the product of a man whose filmmaking roots come from Troma, James Gunn. And he doesn’t forget where he came from either. If the year 2011 taught us nothing but the fact that good things can come from rebooting a beloved franchise, then I’d be alright to call it a day right here and now. Never in my wildest dreams could I have ever conjured up such a crazy notion that the quirky Planet of the Apes franchise could ever be resurrected after that feeble attempt by Tim Burton (I really wish they could have went through with the Adam Rifkin script) way back in the summer of 2001 before our economy took a crap and I have been broke ever since because of low interest rates. However, I digress. We are not here to discuss our nation’s economy because if the fictional ape character of Caesar was real, I have no doubts that it would thrive once again under his direction. All hail Caesar, right? Exactly! That’s exactly the sentimentality I want you all to have over the course of the next five minutes or so as I impregnate your mind with a world dominated by apes, or at least on the cusp of that becoming a reality in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. There’s no denying that the early success of Why So Blu can be traced back to three key triggering events in our website’s now six-year timeline. The odd or ironic thing about it is that all three of those events revolve around one premium cable television series. Yep! You guessed it…Starz’s Spartacus! Those events include the odd chance meeting of what would become one our website’s most prolific movie reviewers, Aaron Neuwirth, at the Comic-Con 2010 panel for Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, being the first site back in 2010 to publish a review of the much anticipated debut Blu-ray release of Spartacus: Blood and Sand and last but not least, the promotion of that Blu-ray review to the thousands of loyal Spartacus fans courtesy of the PR person any guy would be lucky to have in their corner. And because of all she does for us, Why So Blu is still kicking and thriving. There is a point in Horrible Bosses 2 where a character is asked what took place and his response is that he is unsure, because the three lead characters were yammering too much for him to be certain. Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis have great chemistry, no doubt about it. Their banter, which features each performer playing up the key aspect of their comedic personas that make them enjoyable to watch for many, is key to maintaining a level of energy for a film that was not really needed. I liked Horrible Bosses okay, but a sequel seemed like overkill. Now I have seen it and while the concept is pretty thin, enough is done to make it fairly enjoyable. With that in mind, the way it leans hard on some weirdly uncomfortable jokes keeps it from being one I really need to see twice.

We have all had our share of “horrible bosses” haven’t we? Maybe we don’t care to admit it, but I believe I’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t have their own horrible boss story. Let’s look at example from a chapter in my own life. In my current position and prior place of employment I am/had been looked upon in very high regards. However, two jobs ago, I felt like I could never do anything right to please the man. Nothing was ever good enough and in return I was constantly bullied, picked upon and insulted almost every day despite everyone else in the company seemingly loving my work and support. It just goes to show you there are such things as “horrible bosses” in life and having said that this personal prologue serves as a nice segue into the movie we’re all gathered here today to discuss, introducing Horrible Bosses 2. “Clever girl.” Well this is more exciting than I was expecting. Jurassic World is coming and while I may not have many nice things to say about the previous Jurassic Park sequels (I like 3 more than The Lost World though), I still have a continue interest in dinosaurs and the world that these films exist in. Now we have a new trailer (and some images and a poster) for Jurassic World and it looks like fun. The premise seems solid enough, director Colin Trevorrow has gone from the indie hit Safety Not Guaranteed to the world of big budget movies, and the cast has Star Lord himself, Chris Pratt, among many others. Here’s one that I have heard mixed things about, but the trailer makes it looks so wonderful that I kind of still want to give it that old college try if you know what I mean. Of course I’m talking about the odd Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, horror film Horns, which will be making its Blu-ray debut on January 6th. If nothing else, it has Rated-R sexual content, some graphic nudity, disturbing violence and language going for it. Eh, how bad can it be?
