Shakira’s a Gypsy!
My love/hate relationship with the beautiful Shakira continues. Why do I use love/hate to describe my relationship with Shakira? Well, it’s quite simple really. In my opinion, Shakira is one of the most talented musical artists out there, but whatever agent or person is responsible for picking out her singles really sucks. I really hope I am not talking about you Shaki. If so, then please forgive me. You see, in my opinion there are so many better songs on Shakira’s new CD than the music video you are about to see below of “Gypsy.” In fact, I will go on record as saying “Gypsy” is the weakest of her new songs. So upon further examination I am sure one can clearly see now why I am just completely baffled she would pick this as her next single when she is quoted in Rolling Stone last year as saying her new CD is what she was banking on to finally put her on the map in the United States. Shakira, sweetheart, I have news for you. You are already a superstar here in the States. Fire your manager and pick someone who knows how to market you please! Or else you risk getting the Ashley Judd disease. Despite all her humanitarian work, which I am extremely proud of, Ashely Judd has not been in a good movie or picked a good role since the early 2000’s. What a waste! I don’t want to see the same thing to happen to the lovely Shaki!
And to Gerard…I hear you. Shakira really used to know how to rock it out. I hope to catch her on the road this year before she goes off and has that baby 🙁
FYI…the new video below, “Gypsy,” features tennis superstar Rafa Nadal. For what it’s worth Shaki…I do like the outfit 🙂
