The Daily Blu…October 19, 2009

It’s been a long time since we last chatted!  We have so much to catch up on.  I’m a bit jet-lagged today from my trip back home from Los Angeles and the filming/red carpet coverage of Spike TV’s Scream 2009 this past Saturday.  So let’s get started!  We have a lot of Blu-ray news to announce today!  First up, just in time for Christmas, Universal Studios has announced a December 15th Blu-ray release date for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds.  Walt Disney has set a December 8th Blu-ray release date for it’s animted film Ponyo.  Warner will bring Fame: The Original Movie (the 1980 film) to Blu-ray on January 26th.  If rumors are true, viewers will be treated to alternate endings on the future Blu-ray release of Paranormal Activity.  There is no release date set for the film as of yet.  Fox has indicated they will be bring the Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper comedy All About Steve to Blu-ray on December 22nd.

Don’t forget all the exclusive Blu-ray retail editions of Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen coming out tomorrow.  My money is still on the Wal-Mart exclusive edition that will supposedly be the only one to feature the IMAX bonus footage.

There’s also a couple of recently announced Warner Home Video BD-Live Community screenings coming up too.  Warner will hold an audio-enabled live community screening of Terminator Salvation with its director McG on December 5th at 6 PM PST.  Warner also has a 3PM EST December 12th community screening set for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with director David Yates and actor Daniel Radcliffe.

Last but not least, stay tuned to our site this week as we will be providing exclusive red carpet photos and interviews from the filming of Spike TV’s Scream 2009 awards show which was held in Los Angeles this past Saturday night.  We also have an awesome treat coming up this week for all the 30 Days of Nights fans out there.  Stay tuned!
