The Karate Kid Kicks Twice on Blu-ray

The Karate Kid Blu-rayIf there ever is a film that I have high hopes for on the Blu-ray format, then it would be Star Wars:  Return of the Jedi.  But if I had a 10th choice, then I would probably say the monumental The Karate Kid.  OK.  Why not Part II as well?  Didn’t every one my age start taking karate classes immediately after seeing this fim?  Well just my luck, Sony made a killer announcement on Monday bringing my karate dreams to life on Blu-ray!  That’s right.  The Karate Kid and The Karate Kid, Part II will debut on the Blu-ray format May 11th.

Wow, I had no idea Robert Mark Kamen wrote this. He’s like Luc Besson’s #1 collaborator.

I just hope that the first movie looks good on Blu-ray. I hope it’s not a disappointing catalog release. I’m going to say some extra prayers. I am having a hard time remembering what Part 2 was like. Didn’t he go overseas?

Never seen part 2. I saw part 3 in the theater though. It was cool at the time. 1989 was a great year for films. lol

I think I remember Part 3 and the girl he was in love with in it, but there are no plans for that yet on Blu-ray. It seems weird they just did not do a trilogy pack?

Yup, and right after that came The New Karate Kid with Hillary Swank as the student. Hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? lol
