The next Fast & Furious installment may be over a year away, but we haven’t seen the last of Paul Walker yet! Thank God! I’m here today with some good news to promote one of Walker’s last roles that will be making a Blu-ray appearance this March. Action star Paul Walker is a father who will do anything to protect his family in Hours, arriving on DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet) and Digital HD March 4 from Pantelion Films and Lionsgate Home Entertainment. While I’m a huge Stephen King fan, Carrie is oddly one of his novels that I’ve never read for some strange reason as I think about it now. Well, that’s definitely going to get added to the bucket list. I can’t die with that on my conscious. But anyway, that kind of preludes as to why we are all gathered here today to discuss the “re-imagining” of the 1976 film I guess you can say. Now hold up! I know how people feel about the subject of re-imaginings or reboots. We’ve all been there and done this countless more times than we care to admit in the horror genre so that’s why I’m going to forgo making any and all references between this and the 1976 film that horror fans adore so much. There’s no sense in getting into any heated arguments or debates about the taboo topic. Whether you are okay with it or not, you just have to get over the fact that it’s already done and in the can so to speak. ‘Carrie 2013’ has happened and there’s nothing you or I can do about it now. 
Of all movies to ever take your parents to see theatrically when they are in town visiting you after having not seen you for almost a year, Bad Grandpa prevailed. I have to say. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I took them there. I was expecting the feature, judging by its trailer, to be a little bit of Jackass mixed with a true, somewhat semi-serious narrative. And I know my parents secretly were laughing at the guys’ antics when I showed them Jackass 3 before so I was just hoping they would not be disturbed or repulsed by what they were about to witness onscreen. And you want to know the kicker of it all? I believe they laughed harder than me. Ha! Go figure! Regardless of how I felt about it several months ago, the day is finally upon us when Bad Grandpa is coming home to the Blu-ray format courtesy of Paramount Media Home Distribution and now the burden lies with me to carry the cross and guide you through the following trek of a Blu-ray review. You ready? 
I remember when this film first came out. I never heard of it until a few months before it’s release date. I thought that was odd. Then a star’s name in the billing credits caught my eye and that’s all it took. I didn’t care anymore as to how this film managed to sneak under my radar. Hook…line…and sinker! Yeah, baby! That’s right! Gemma’s in the house again and it’s time to get this party started! So needless to say when I received the press invite to this one, there wasn’t even a second of hesitation. Anything lingering on my calendar, as far as I am concerned, could wait. Gemma needs my love and support. This movie can suck for all I care, but as long as Gemma looks good in it, you already had my money…if I was a paying customer. But let’s talk about that. Is Gemma Arterton and her newest flick worth the price of admission now that it’s out on Blu-ray and DVD? And oh yeah…did I mention Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake also star in this one too? I guess you can say there’s a star in this for every one. So let’s take a closer look and see if you’ll be prone to “run” away from Runner Runner or stick around and play. Shoes all laced up? Good! Let’s hit the ground running…

The final instalment in the trilogy is “Killing Jesus,” which follows the events leading up to the crucifixion. Home invasion movies are one of the current popular subgenre trends of horror in the last couple years. They are one of the easy to cheaply exploit routes to take for young up and coming filmmakers to tackle. The challenge is always putting your own stamp on things. You may be knocking something off, that’s obvious, but HOW you do it is key. Last summer we saw two examples of this subgenre. One put its own creative spin on it and made for a great horror film (You’re Next) while the other had a fun concept but took a rather stale and boring approach to things (The Purge). Anchor Bay’s In Fear looks like its got an interesting enough pitch, so I’m pretty excited to see if they’re are going to have the execution to match. This one takes place in a car instead of a home. Its also got a Sundance Festival label on it too, so that means it may not be completely bottom of the barrel if its dreck. There’s no pre-order available yet, but as soon as we get one, we’ll have it here for you at 
I have to admit. I really wanted nothing to do with Last Vegas theatrically, but after reluctantly taking the trip with it, I actually liked it. It did not top anybody’s Top 10 lists last year, at least I don’t think it did, but that did not stop me from having a good time with the elders in this film. Come on! Look at that amazing cast lineup consisting of Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline. How can you not want to check this one out? Heck! I don again! I’ll give it another go around on the Blu-ray format this January. Will you? Check out the full press release below and 
To be fair, I did not come up with the title of this post nor would I have wanted to write that, that was on the press release e-mail. That said, while I was initially disappointed in theaters by Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, I am one to pay attention to his extended/director cuts of his films, as they often tend to work even better than the theatrical cuts. I am still not sure if the film could actually play better, if it were longer, but I am certainly curious if a different cut will make me disregard how bad Cameron Diaz was in this film or how little I cared for these characters. Regardless, there is a solid-looking Blu-ray headed to stores on February 11th. Continue on to learn more about this upcoming release.
