Cheerleader Jennifer (Megan Fox) goes from plain bitchy to supernatural evil when she returns from the grave with a thirst for the blood of teenage boys. It’s up to her nerdy best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) to save the day before Jennifer feasts on the town’s entire male population with an eye on Needy’s boyfriend as her next victim… Continue reading ‘Thor Gets Fresh With Jennifer’s Body’

Oh no! Not another day of no Blu-ray news and web hosting problems! Say it ain’t so? I’m afraid that it. Oh well. At least it’s Friday and I do have one bit of Blu-ray news to talk about. I’m not really feeling good about this news so it pains me to be the bearer of it. It seems that Wal-Mart has exclusive rights to selling the IMAX version of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray. Continue reading ‘The Daily Blu…October 2, 2009’

This is starting to become a trend this week. In addition to the slew of problems I experienced with our web hosting company today I am sad to report that there is no new Blu-ray news at all, at least none that I can find. So let’s roll with some movie news, shall we? Michael Bay has confirmed on his website that Tranformers 3 will be released on July 1, 2011, not 2012 as originally planned. Continue reading ‘The Daily Blu…October 1, 2009’

Telling the truth is such an easy concept when you strip back the layers and psychoanalyze the action, but why is it so hard for people to ultimately do? I’m sure you heard the phrase that honesty goes a long way. So why does it always seem to get us in trouble when things are really much better off left unsaid? Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you lived in a world where everybody always told the truth no matter how harsh it might sound? I still have the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance for my old Xbox. Man, I had a blast with that game. Though it wasn’t completely original (there were some X-Men games before it that used a similar format), it was loads of fun and eclipsed those X-Men games in every possible aspect of fun. However, as with all sequels, movie or game, I’ve learned to not hold my breath in anticipation. Continue reading ‘Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 – A Smashing Hit!’

Wow! Not another day of no Blu-ray news to report on? Say it ain’t true? Yep, I am sorry it is. Although, here’s one for you. Try this one on for size. For a limited time you can get a Michael Bay autographed Transformers 1 & 2 Blu-ray disc. The prices depend on whether or not you are buying one or the combo deal and whether you are international vs. domestic. Continue reading ‘The Daily Blu…September 30, 2009’

In the good old days of movie making, the only way to get a movie made was with a sensible plot and, hopefully, a movie star or two to make it even more interesting. The recipe has since changed to making movies based off of brand awareness. The recipe only changed because people stopped going to see critically acclaimed films, and decided instead to see movies like The Day After Tomorrow because in the preview there was a cool tornado. Continue reading ‘No Plot, No Problem. Just Add Special Effects!’

I am sorry to have to disappoint, but there’s really nothing to report on tonight. Today has been a quiet day on all fronts. There are however a few reports that Playstation 3 firmware 3.0+ has been bricking some units so be very careful about upgrading if you don’t have to. The only bit of news I have today in the world of Blu-ray relates to Liam Neeson’s The Other Man film. Continue reading ‘The Daily Blu…September 29, 2009’

Suppose you were in the mood for a good science fiction/horror recipe. And no, I am not talking about Jason X. Let’s first throw in a tad of the chilling suspense found in the original John Carpenter Halloween. Next, let’s add some enticements. Remember the heart-pounding clenching fear you felt while watching the original Alien film? Well, let’s put some of that in there. Continue reading ‘Brian Suffers From Pandorum’

Wow! Up until a few minutes ago I only had one item of Blu-ray business to discuss, but then my world took a spin for the good. Let’s start with the one item and then I will save the BEST for last. Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced a December 1st Blu-ray release date for the Guy Ritchie film Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. That’s right! Should I be concerned or seriously ponder anymore why Fame was one of the best movies I have seen theatrically in the past month? I’m not really sure how I feel about this. It sits a little uneasy with me. I go to this movie I had little to no interest in, especially considering the subject matter, and I come out a believer. I’ll expand on that in a little bit, but for now let’s talk more Fame! Continue reading ‘Fame! Brian’s Going To Live Forever!’

We got three Blu-ray announcements for you today! First up, Disney alerts retailers that the animated hit G-Force will be arriving on the Blu-ray format December 15th. I know a lot of little ones are going to be happy about that. I guess I just found what I will be buying my little nephew this Christmas. He only likes Blu-ray. Right Kasey? Sorority Row is rated R for strong bloody violence, language, some sexuality/nudity and partying. So automatically I know that there is something I am going to like and that’s enough for me to seat through another cheap teen horror remake. Just like every other guy, I enjoy sex and violence at the movies, but this movie was so bad even that couldn’t save it for me. Continue reading ‘David Says Sorority Row is Hot and Not’
