When I first found out they were attempting to go down the road of reinventing, re-branding and rebooting the legendary Superman franchise I just flat out laughed. Then I found out Watchmen’s Zack Snyder was directing the project. I have absolutely nothing against the looks and visual style of his films. I know Snyder has a lot of potential. After all he did do 300 and created one of the most stunning movie intros ever, in my opinion, in Sucker Punch. So the cat has talent, that much I can’t deny. However, then it became known that Christopher Nolan was going to be serving as a producer. I thought maybe, just maybe, under the tutelage of King Nolan, Snyder could possibly nail it on the head and get Superman right this time out. After all, there’s no doubt that this franchise needs a hero. If anybody can do it, it’s definitely Nolan. I have explicit faith in Nolan, and therefore I entrusted my faith in Snyder too. So prepare to soar and be dazzled (because we’re talking about Superman after all). This is 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray review is made out of steel so treat it accordingly. The Ice Age film series is about a strange a beast as Sid the sloth. While sequels and diminishing returns can often go hand in hand, this is the rare big-budget animated series that lost its way quickly, yet still manages to find success. Ice Age: Collision Course is not a very good film, as it traffics in all the worst things you would expect from animated family comedies (frequent pop culture references, indifferent stakes, big pop song and dancing into the end credits) and really has nothing to offer in the way of cultural relevance. It’s a shame, as hard work must have gone into the making of the film, yet we are very far away from what made the first film somewhat unique.

For all Back to the Future fans big or small, the famed DeLorean DMC-12 is by far one of the most recognized movie vehicles worldwide. As the machine of choice for Doc Brown’s famed time machine, the DeLorean with its stainless steel body and futuristic gull-wing doors has been a symbol of fantasy and science fiction come to life. You know how movies come and go from the theater? There always seems to be that one a year where you say to yourself that one got away from me. You wish you could have made it to the theater to see it. However, before you knew it you either forgot about it or the movie dissipated from the cinema. Well, Criminal is one of those films for me in 2016. I was full of euphoria after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (shameless plug of my 4K review here). Wonder Woman is in this! So why not? Could Criminal really be as awful as the critics say with Kevin Costner in the starring role? It also has Ryan Reynolds, Gary Oldman and honeys Alice Eve and Antje Traue. How bad can it really be?
