In Teen Wolf – Season 4 a high-school teen cursed with the werewolf virus must constantly defend innocents from supernatural creatures who seek power and to quench their undying blood lusts. With a ragtag group of friends, both immortal and mortal, he manages to save as many lives as possible while uncovering truths and plots that affect his team, as well as him. Little Loopers is a young teen-focused film that is not so entertaining for older crowds. Full of fart jokes and other juvenile jokes, it is kind of hard to watch for this viewer. This movie is OK, but nothing spectacular. Read on and I’ll tell you why.

Brother’s Keeper is a faith based movie that takes the viewer by surprise. A well-written but far-fetched story premise, that shocks the audience with the finial twist. A small story about a small town that get s a huge helping of faith and hope.

Slasher // Video presents Shock ‘Em Dead, a film about rock & roll and soul(s) directed by Mark Freed (Lovers and Liars) and starring Traci Lords (Cry-Baby), Troy Donahue (Imitation of Life), Aldo Ray (We’re No Angels) and Stephen Quadros (The Lost Platoon). Traci Lords plays Lindsay, who’s growing attraction to supernaturally charged rocker Angel soon turns to fear as she finds herself pulled further and further into a terrifying world of unspeakable evil. This is yet another one of the vintage home video sourced films from Slasher // Video and it features a slew of bonus materials on it which includes a cast reunion session and director commentary. 
Its been another wonderful year in the world of Blu-ray with a good chunk of titles coming off my wishlist and into my Blu-ray collection. In the past year I retired the somewhat weekly rendition of this column in favor of it being annual. Featuring master of exploitation Bruno Mattei’s (Cruel Jaws, Rats: Night of Terror) signature flourishes and a script co-written by Claudio Fragasso (Troll 2, Beyond Darkness), Women’s Prison Massacre is a brutal and uncompromising entry in one of cinema’s most infamous genres. 
It must be the month of Mowvember because the Rated-R (yes you read that right) Extended Edition of the third film in hopefully the final trilogy is upon us. You know what one I’m talking about. The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies is the film both fans of The Hobbit franchise have been anxiously waiting for and the moviegoers that do not care too much about the saga and just want it to finally come to an end. However, to me it’s so much more. Whether you read the books or not, I haven’t, The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies is nothing more than the Revenge of the Sith of the Lord of the Rings series. I think y’all know what I mean when I say that. No matter how you slice it the events of this film we’re here to discuss today had to fit together like bookends to the trilogy that came before it. When it comes to movies like this that can be both a blessing and a curse. However, this one is a two-hour action romp (plus an additional 20 minutes longer now) complete with Legolas jumping power, and when you are talking these films that’s nothing but a good thing. The Deadliest Prey, a sequel 27 years in the making, reunites Deadly Prey co-stars Ted Prior, David Campbell, Fritz Matthews and director David A. Prior. Sadist, psychopath, and a damn fine solider, Colonel Hogan and his merry band of mercenaries are back for more in the sequel to writer/director David A. Prior’s Deadly Prey. The action and kills are amped up in The Deadliest Prey co-starring Fritz Matthews (Deadly Prey, Born Killer) and Cat Tomeny (Flesh Wounds, Enemies Among Us). I had not known there was a sequel to the original, so I was pretty excited to find out that one had been made. And its now 27 years later. One can only hope that the film remembers where it came from and is just as ridiculous as the original
Human hunting for sport is the twisted premise of Deadly Prey, written and directed by David A. Prior (The Deadliest Prey, Relentless Justice) and starring Ted Prior (Killer Workout, The Deadliest Prey). The action-packed thrill ride Deadly Prey co-stars Cameron Mitchell (Hombre, Klansman), Dawn Abraham (Mike’s Murder) and Suzzane Tara (TV’s General Hospital). The film is being made for the first time ever since VHS and BETA from independent home video distributor Slasher // Video and distributed by our friends at the independent distribution studio Olive Films. This marks the first time its been on disc and carries with it some bonus features including a new interview with the makeup effects artist. It must be noted up front that this release is not sourced from an HD master but rather standard definition sources like VHS and Betamax tapes. Slasher // Video polled Facebook if people would buy this release (among others) given the circumstances and the answer was a resounding yes. So, those who voted, put your money where your mouth is!

This isn’t just a live concert for The Motels, it’s actually a celebration of the 50th anniversary for the historical LA rock club, “The Whiskey a Go-Go”. The show opens with an introduction from Rosanna Arquette and Linda Perry. Arquette gives a brief description of the history of the “Whiskey” followed by Linda offering up a cheeky tale of her fondness for Martha Davis and her music. Most live concert home videos show the band ready and on stage with their Instruments set up and prepped. But in this case they actually show the band gradually walk on stage minus Martha Davis. I thought that was a really cool way to open the show as it really gives you the feeling that you’re in the crowd waiting with anticipation as the house lights dim, the stages lights come on, and the show begins.
