Just a little over a day since the trailer for this summer’s Guardians Of The Galaxy made waves on the internet and they’re already sending us more. After the jump, I’ve been provided with some clips introducing us to our heroes of the film. This is a pretty brilliant movie on Disney and Marvel’s behalf as this is a much lesser known property that they’ve brought to life. Also at the bottom you’ll see what they’re calling the “teaser” poster for the film. It opens in August and the trailer has already got most of us here at Why So Blu even more excited for the film (Gerard will come around, don’t worry). Today go ahead and meet the Guardians! 
Welcome to another Thursday of my wish list picks. I’d like to quickly point out that I’m posting these in no sort of preferential or ranking order. I’m merely going off of what I’m feeling about discussing for the week. And of course, it’s a title I think should be put out on the format. I’m also trying to kind of vary my choices when it comes to genre and the like, because I could easily fill this with horror title after horror title. But I want some variety. I hope you’re enjoying this as much as I am. And as always, feel free to leave suggestion of titles you want and I may choose to discuss them in the near future! So, with all that “blah blah” off my chest, let’s hunker own down and get to this week’s pick. 
The Swedish box office phenomenon starring Joel Kinnaman (RoboCop, “The Killing”) continues when the pulse-pounding sequel Easy Money: Hard To Kill arrives on Blu-ray disc, DVD, on demand and digital platforms March 11 from Cinedigm. The title will also have limited early digital availability February 14.
2013 marked the passing of 50 years since one of the darkest days in American history; the assassination of the 35th President of the United States of America John Fitzgerald Kennedy. In light of this (is it in good taste to call it a “milestone”?) half century of time passage, a film based on the event and leading up to it was put into commission. The film, Killing Kennedy, was aired on The National Geographic Channel back on November 10 and was produced by acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott. The film received rather mixed reviews, but garnered star Rob Lowe a Screen Actors Guild award nomination for his portrayal of the fallen President. Now, it’s coming to you on Blu-ray courtesy of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. 
Last night stars Aaron Paul, Scott Mescudi, and Director Scott Waugh introduced special advance screenings via live satellite ofNEED FOR SPEED, in 100 theaters across North America. Aaron Paul and Scott Mescudi spoke to fans directly via Twitter chats from the theater in Burbank, CA. Director Scott Waugh and stars Aaron Paul and Scott Mescudi recently returned from a national media tour where they met with fans at screenings across the country in markets including Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, and New York.
Two new clips have arrived today from Anchor Bay and Starz upcoming Sundance horror acquisition In Fear. They are opening the film in select cities on March 7th for a short theatrical release, followed by its debut on Blu-ray and Video On Demand the following new release Tuesday (March 11th). The calendar year of 1996 saw a lot of big feature names get released such as Independence Day, Fargo, Trainspotting, Jerry Maguire, The Rock, Scream, From Dusk till Dawn, Twister, The English Patient, Primal Fear and many more, but perhaps none more transcending for two young actors than the movie we are gathered here to discuss today…a blast from my past…Normal Life. This film may possibly boast the single greatest performances from both Ashley Judd and Luke Perry, but the cold reality of the situation is the fact that it’s also probably their most obscure and least-seen film of their careers. Now that blanket statement doesn’t hold true as it relates to myself, as I consider Normal Life one of my favorite Ashley Judd films of all-time (and Luke Perry for that matter), but I’d be hard pressed to ever talk to anyone that has seen the movie before, even in the reviewer community that I keep myself so actively engaged in. 
Chan-wook Park’s Oldboy from 2003 is one of my favorite films of all time. It came highly recommended to me by my good friend John Rocha. He refused to tell me as much as possible about the plot and didn’t want to discuss anything aside from it being “terrific” until I saw it. And when I first saw it, my mind was freakin’ BLOWN (overused term, I know, but how else do you describe it?). It was an incredibly engaged movie that hooks you from the first frame and has you on the edge of your seat trying to piece together and figure it out before the film does. It also had some really cool action, including a memorable one take confined space fight with a hammer. And then, the biggie, the jaw dropping “HOLY SHIT” ending. I immediately knew I would never forget this film. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never forget 2003’s Oldboy. I began immediately forcing the film upon my film buff friends and spreading the good word. Everybody seemed in agreement; Oldboy was a great film and one of the best of the decade. 
Be prepared for one squirrelly adventure in the action-packed comedy,The Nut Job, starring Will Arnett (Despicable Me, Ratatouille) as Surly, a mischievous squirrel on a mission to prove himself.The Nut Job comes to Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray Combo Pack including Blu-ray, DVD, & DIGITAL HD with UltraViolet as well as On Demand on April 15, 2014, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will also be available on DIGITAL HD one week early on April 8, 2014.
What even needs to be said about this film other than one of the biggest flicks of 2013 is finally coming home to our beloved HD format of choice, Blu-ray?! Oh hell…let’s just get it over with. The Wolf of Wall Street is coming home to Blu-ray on March 25th courtesy of Paramount Home Media Distribution. I look around and all I see right now is a sea of standing ovations from movie lovers. Now that things have finally calmed down for a bit I would love to share with you the below full press release from Paramount. Make sure to pre-order your Blu-ray copy today! 
Honestly, when this came out theatrically last year, I wanted nothing to do with it really. Then, surprisingly, mostly positive reviews poured in. I kind of felt like it’s a spoof on the Rocky franchise as well as Raging Bull, two legendary boxing sagas, so that’s kind of why I avoided it. But that’s childish, right? I think so. Oh what the hell. I want to give it a chance! It does have two “legendary” actors in the title role. It has to be good, no? Well thankfully, I don’t have too long to find out due to Warner Bros. press announcement today where they announced an April 8th Blu-ray release date for…Grudge Match.
