While part two in the new franchise here didn’t really do it for me, I gotta say I’m stoked to see where this news of next one goes, especially with Sarah Butler back in the mix. Hell yeah! So here’s the 411. Anchor Bay Entertainment is proud to announce the release of the revenge horror film, I Spit On Your Grave 3. Directed by R.D. Braunstein, the third installment of the controversial cult series will be released in select theaters and EST October 9, 2015 before heading to DVD, Blu-ray and Video On Demand October 20, 2015. Experience the story of one small super hero who had the courage to inspire millions when Batkid Begins arrives onto DVD and Digital HD on October 6th from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The documentary Batkid Begins chronicles the one day, in one city, when the world came together to grant one 5-year-old cancer patient his wish. The film will be available early on Digital HD starting on September 25. Much to my surprise, Brandon and Logan are sadly not interested in this treasured Batman collectible, but surely people out there reading this are. Today, Instagram announced that – in addition to square posts – you can now share photos and videos in both portrait and landscape orientation on their platform. With this update, Instagram users can upload widescreen video which will be more cinematic than ever. This morning, @StarWars released an exclusive look at their upcoming film, The Force Awakens, using Instagram’s new landscape orientation. As part of this collaboration, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the very first video content to be showcased in this new format for the Instagram community.

The extended cut of the final film in The Hobbit Trilogy includes 20 minutes of extra footage and more than 9 hours of bonus features (yea) that will complete every Hobbit fan’s collection. The film, the third in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Anchor Bay Entertainment announced YESTERDAY that they will release the thrilling STARZ Original series Black Sails The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray + Digital HD with Ultraviolet and DVD on November 3, 2015. The Emmy Award-winning series, created by Jonathan E. Steinberg (“Jericho,” “Human Target”) and Robert Levine (“Touch”) and executive produced by Michael Bay (the Transformers franchise, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor), and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Purge), follows the most feared pirate of the day, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens), and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island. Ahoy there! Here’s some exciting news to brighten up your Wednesday! We have the brand NEW trailer for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film, The Martian. Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover, The Martian is based on a best-selling novel, and helmed by master director Ridley Scott. Feels a little too close to Interstellar with a couple of this names huh? Nah! Don’t worry. I’m looking forward to the October 2nd release of this one. Enjoy the trailer!

There’s a chase sequence towards the end of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. which basically has the two leads simply driving up a hill. Not a whole lot actually happens, but it has tremendous energy, accompanied by a fantastic score by Daniel Pemberton. Which is the best way to describe the film as a whole. The story is fairly unremarkable, it’s simple, but it’s a hell of a great time. The dialogue is quick and witty, the actors all have winning chemistry, the editing is crisp, the cinematography is gorgeous, and, again, the score is splendid (really! it’s so toe-tappingly brilliant). 
Hey ho Star Wars fans! Live from Disney D23 today, Lucasfilm announced that their first film in the new standalone Star Wars stories series, Rogue One, has begun principal photography. Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters) is directing “Rogue One,” which tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and is slated for a December 16, 2016 release. I applaud Gareth taking the reigns here, but let’s hope this one is so much better than that P.O.S.
