This October, Danny Trejo Chops Zombies With An Axe In ZOMBIE HUNTER!

Zombie-HunterThe title of this article is all I needed to sell me on this one.  Danny Trejo and zombies.  Sounds like a great combination.  He’s plays a priest leader of a group of survivors in search of the promised land.  Oh yeah, and his name is Jesus.  Danny doesn’t look to be the main character as I may have made you believe just now, but I’m sure he’ll be an integral part.  This could turn out to be a pretty fun zombie movie.  The film looks like its well aware of what it is but doesn’t sit and become too happy with that.  In addition, there seems to be some cool action and some innovative monstrosities to go along with the zombies.  If this thing delivers solidly in the gore, thrills, laughs, action and fights it should be a decent time!  Below you’ll find the official release info and pre-order link.  I especially enjoy the JOBLO.com quote.  It sells me even more on this upcoming zombie tale of survival horror! DUN DUN DAHHH! Dreamworks’ The Croods Arrives on Blu-ray This October

img3Here’s an animated film that I never got around to seeing, but heard enough good things to make me kind of regret not doing so.  Maybe it has to do with curiosity surrounding Nic Cage playing a caveman in an animated film (though not being animated would make me more curious) or maybe it has to do with seeing an animated caveman adventure that does not involve characters from Ice Age, but I am looking forward to checking it out.  I will have the chance to do so, along with everyone else, come October 1st, when The Croods arrives on Blu-ray.  Continue on to check out the different editions of this upcoming Blu-ray, which will best help you enjoy this animated caveman adventure.

Comic-Con 2013: Mortal Kombat Legacy

mk logoBack in 2011, fans of the popular video game series Mortal Kombat were treated to a brand new way of experiencing the series and various characters through the means of a pretty solid web series (which I covered HERE).  Mortal Kombat Legacy was a much grittier portrayal of the world of Mortal Kombat, with an emphasis on applying a real world quality to the series, despite involving fantastical elements, such as the god of thunder, Raiden.  Regardless, the web series was a hit at the time, but has only slowly leaked out information regarding the new season.  Well, there was a panel at San Diego Comic Con this year, which was a great way to reintroduce audiences to the series.  While a trailer was released a few months ago, fans got a new look at this upcoming season, as well as some information in regards to how things are going to change for the better.  Continue on to learn more about this panel, check out some photos, and take a look at the latest trailer.

Comic-Con 2013: Marvel Panel

Marvel-Studios-LogoOut of all of the panels that were to appear in Hall H this year, the one that I was looking forward to the most (with the exception of Harrison Ford), was the Marvel one and it also proved to be the hardest one to get into as well.  I love superhero comics and movies (both DC and Marvel) so I was very excited to see what Marvel had planned for Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier as they were the only two announced panels.  I knew that Marvel being Marvel, would of course have something secret that they would spring on us and I couldn’t wait to see what it was.  I thought it might be an official announcement for The Avengers 2 or maybe some welcome news of a brand new franchise like Doctor Strange or something. I thought there might even be a mention of The Guardians of the Galaxy, but considered that to be somewhat unlikely since they just started filming the movie.  They couldn’t possibly have footage to show after fourteen days of filming right?  And there’s no chance that Loki could show up to belittle the Hall H crowd either right?  Well, true believers you just might be surprised… Continue reading ‘Comic-Con 2013: Marvel Panel’

Comic-Con 2013: Sony & Screen Gems Panel

sony_pictures_logo_288x288Sony Pictures had a big day on Friday at San Diego Comic Con this year, mainly due to the debut of footage from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the panel that went along with it (an article on that can be found HERE).  With that said, there were plenty of other exciting things going on with Sony and Screen Gems at Hall H that day, which included presentations from 3 of their other upcoming films:  Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (something I was personally really excited about), The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (a book series I know next to nothing about…sorry), and the debut of footage from the remake of RoboCop (hopefully not as dull as the Total Recall remake from a year prior).  The following post is all about what exactly went down at this packed presentation, along with some film photos, panel photos, and videos.  Take a look!

Comic-Con 2013: The Legend of Korra

Korra_SDCC_Poster_FINAL-001For this San Diego Comic Con post, I am going to have to emphasize the word ‘unfortunate’, because it was very unfortunate that I could not make it to the panel for the animated series The Legend of Korra.  A new season will be premiering in the fall and it is a great show that I am very much looking forward to.  This Emmy-winning sequel series to the Emmy-winning Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of the best shows on TV last year.  Not just as far as animated show go, but television in general.  It combines incredibly well-animated action and settings with strong characters and very interesting concepts, all while being wholly appropriate for people of all ages.  While I was not able to attend the panel, which actually screened the first episode of the upcoming season (Comic Con is just too incredibly busy of a time to see everything), I was able to find some highlights from the panel, which can be found below, along with some photos and a trailer for the upcoming season.  Enjoy.

Scream Factory Unveils All New Extras For PRINCE OF DARKNESS!

Prince-Of-DarknessNobody does John Carpenter’s films justice on home video like Scream Factory.  They’ve already released 4 titles directed or produced by him and have 2 more slated for release before the year ends.  One of those is his 1987 cult classic Prince of Darkness.  It’s a film that reunites Carpenter with actor Donald Pleasance, who starred in Carpenter’s breakout film Halloween.  These new extras feature a new interview and commentary with John Carpenter himself (he can be tough to get ahold of for these things nowadays).  In addition, rock legend Alice Cooper and frequent composing collaborator Alan Howarth have interviews.  Also appearing is another episode of the always informative Horrors Hallowed Grounds series (will Robert Russler show up yet again?).  Also, if you act now and preorder from Scream Factory’s official site (click here) you will receive an exclusive 18×24 poster featuring the new artwork.  Prince of Darkness comes out September 24, which for Blu-ray collectors an d fans should be “John Carpenter Day”.  Continue on to get all the details!
