From executive producer Robert Rodriguez comes the first season of the original El Rey Network series, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN,swooping onto Blu-ray and DVD, featuring all 10 Season One episodes, including episodes directed by Rodriguez and Eduardo Sánchez(The Blair Witch Project). This supernatural series, based on Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 1996 cult classic film of the same name (starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Salma Hayek and Tarantino), centers on bank robbers Seth and Richie Gecko, who are wanted by the authorities after a heist leaves several dead. Escaping across the Mexican border with a family of hostages, the Gecko brothers take a detour to a strip club that’s populated by bloodsucking creatures of the night. Free Fall feels almost like a reunion to me. After falling in love with the remake of I Spit on Your Grave a few years back I have subsequently fallen for Sarah Butler as a direct byproduct too. So while this movie can either go one of two ways, suck or be decent, I’m willing to gamble a couple hours of my life on it. How about you? Come on horror fans! It has Sarah Butler AND Malcolm McDowell in it! That’s like a two for one deal! So here’s the basics. Today Disney has unveiled their teaser trailer for the upcoming live action film adaptation of the longtime favorite musical Into The Woods! I saw this one long ago back in the 90s and remember it being quite a bit of good fun. So, I’m kind of looking forward to seeing this. It comes from Rob Marshall, who once directed the Academy Award Best Picture Winning Chicago many moons ago. Can you believe it was 9 years ago since we last saw Sin City on the big screen? To be honest with you, I can’t believe that much time has gone by. And now there’s an announcement that possibly a third film has been green lit. All I can do is hope and pray that it doesn’t take another nine years to put it out. So if you weren’t at Comic-Con this past week, don’t fret. You’re probably richer for it and best of all…you get to read and see all the news unfold in the privacy of your own home without the mad crowds and overnight slumber parties on the convention center’s lawn. Having first made its debut at Comic Con, the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is now out and it certainly does the job of making this feel like a conclusion of sorts. While I have not been the biggest fan of these Hobbit movies, I certainly look forward to seeing them and appreciate a lot about them. Now Peter Jackson has come closer to wrapping up his second trilogy and appears to be doing so with a film that feels the most in line with Lord of the Rings yet. Also of note, this week is Amazon having a sale on the original Lord of the Rings for 68% off the original price. Continue on to see the trailer, the new poster, and check to out this deal!

While there may not have been a panel dedicated to The Hunger Games in Hall H at Comic Con this year, there was certainly a Hunger Games presence at Comic Con in general, which was apparently also tied with Best Buy, among other establishments, as The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 debuted the new trailer in various forms (via Samsung tablets in some cases) over the weekend. Now it is available to see online and while it is pretty simple, the little that needs to be done to sell a movie like this is being handled pretty well. Given the presence of Philip Seymour Hoffman, along with new characters played by Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer, the potential quality is emphasized over revealing info on the plot, which served the previous two films quite well. The film hits this November, continue on to see the trailer.

Confession. I missed out on Neighbors when it hit theaters a couple months ago. Just didn’t work out for me. But, I’m excited as ever to see it when it drops on Blu-ray in a few months. I have heard nothing but positive about it. I was also a member of the fraternity with which they are basing their jokes off of in college, so I’m excited to have some laughs at myself as well. Cohort Aaron Neuwirth reviewed and liked the movie quite a bit, so that has me looking forward to it too. Anyway, details below, this drops on Sept 23!

It is only less than a month away. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is the hotly anticipated comic book space adventure, from director James Gunn, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Bradley Cooper & Vin Diesel as the voice of a talking raccoon and tree creature. Marvel thinks this is crazy enough to work and dammit if I (and movie geeks everywhere) are not at least curious as well. Following the previous (and great) teaser trailer, we now have a full theatrical trailer for director David Fincher’s (Se7en, Zodiac, The Social Network) upcoming 2014 film, Gone Girl, based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn. After The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it seems that Fincher is fine with adapting popular pulp novels found in grocery stores, but I am not one to complain, if he at least continues to make these films entertaining via his visual and directorial style and stocked with a great cast. This film features Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Kim Dickens, Scoot McNairy, Patrick Fugit, and of course, Tyler Perry. Nana nana nana nana, nana nana nana nana BATMAN! So this is awesome. While many are just fine with Christopher Nolan’s darker take on The Dark Knight, there are still many that love the campy 60s Batman television series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Many have been wanting a release of this TV series for a very long time and now it is finally happening. This is making for a great initial Comic Con 2014 post, as we now have a brief teaser for the upcoming box set of the complete Batman television series, along with an announcement for the panel taking place in Hall H. With all these current summer blockbusters out in theaters, it could be easy to not realize how big the fall is going to be, but between Interstellar, the last Hobbit movie, and of course The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, there are some really big movies coming out towards the end of the year as well. Now we have a teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which features a lot of President Snow and it is effectively fitting for fans of the series and those that enjoy some creative marketing on display. It is only a teaser, with a bit of a surprise towards the end, but continue on to check it out.

As August is getting closer, so are the batch of weirder summer movies headed our way, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With Turtles, there has already been some mixed reaction to what we are getting, given the modern feel of it all and Michael Bay’s name being attached to it. That said, given that TMNT continues to be a presence on TV, kids will likely be happy to check out this new live-action film (which looks very kid friendly to me, as it should), let alone the adults who are happy to embrace nostalgia. Now we have a new trailer that provides a better idea of what is to come with this new movie, along with plenty of character posters. We’ll see how it turns out on August 8th, but continue on to see the new trailer and posters.

Did you know Marvel has a animated Disney film coming out this November? Those more in the know with this kind of news certainly did and now there is a trailer out for the first animated Marvel feature from Disney. It is about a boy who builds a robot superhero team to save his city and it looks quite charming. Much like Guardians of the Galaxy, we are looking at some obscure properties to build films from, but if they all keep looking like a lot of fun, let alone delivering on said fun, it is hard to be anything but excited about future prospects.
