For those either still on the fence or excited enough to want to see more and more footage leading up to the cinematic debut of what is sure to be everyone’s favorite raccoon and a bunch of other chumps, here is a brand new trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Naturally, this trailer explains a bit more beyond who the hell the Guardians of the Galaxy are made up of, with more emphasis on the plot of the film and world that these characters inhabit. Given the weirdness of it all and the involvement of writer/director James Gunn, along with the rest of this cast, I continue to be excited about what could come from a movie like this, especially since it’s a Marvel film straying far from the norm. Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st, continue on to watch the new trailer, see the new poster, and see a number of images from the film.

Easily one of the most anticipated films of the year, Christopher Nolan is following up The Dark Knight Rises with a film that is surely going to wow in some way. With a fantastic cast that included Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, and Michael Caine (apparently contracted to Nolan for life), this is a film that is slowly revealing its true nature, but remains ever so intriguing, based on how grounded all the footage seems so far, with only hints at the extraordinary aspects that will surely be revealed in due time. Continue on to see the new theatrical trailer and poster for this upcoming film, releasing in theaters and IMAX this November.

I honestly forgot this was a thing, but director Kenneth Branagh continues to explore blockbuster filmmaking with a live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella”. It will bring to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation, Disney hopes. There is now a teaser poster and teaser trailer to accompany this upcoming March 2015 release, along with some basic information about what will occur in this film. The plot is no surprise, but the film does star Cate Blanchett and Lily James, among others. Continue to on to find out more.

As we head closer and closer to what I am sure Michael “Boom Boom” Bay refers to as T-Day, more and more marketing materials are going to pop up to get people excited for yet another giant F-ing robots movie. It is almost like we haven’t had much of a break, given the arrival of Pacific Rim last year, let alone Hugh Jackman’s father-son rock ’em sock ’em robot sports drama Real Steel from a few years back, but Transformers: Age of Extinction is sure to be a pretty big event, given that Transformers films tend to be just that. The addition of Mark Wahlberg and Dinobots only seems to make things more of…well, something. Anyway, continue on to see the newest trailer for the film, some new pics, and a final theatrical poster. Those keeping up with the news may have heard today that David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac) will likely not be directing a Steve Jobs biopic, scripted by Aaron Sorkin. Given my love for their previous collaboration, The Social Network, that is unfortunate news, but with that said, the day was also met with a trailer for Fincher’s upcoming 2014 film, Gone Girl, based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn. After The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it seems that Fincher is fine with adapting popular pulp novels found in grocery stores, but I am not one to complain, if he at least continues to make these films entertaining via his visual and directorial style and stocked with a great cast. This film features Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Kim Dickens, Scoot McNairy, Patrick Fugit, and of course, Tyler Perry. The film looks like a fun pulpy ride to me, check it out for yourself in this post.

As stated in the previous post, the 15th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival is coming soon (opening night is April 24th) and there will be many films and festivities I plan to see and be a part of. This post contains the official press release concerning the closing night film, which I am very excited about. Chef is a return for Jon Favreau to his low-budget roots and after just seeing the trailer, which features a strong cast and what looks to be cinematography based around food that will have everyone salivating throughout, I am super excited to be able to catch it. Check out the rest of this post to read the official press release regarding this closing night film and I have also embedded the trailer for Chef.

With Captain America: The Winter Soldier opening in wide release and Under the Skin opening in limited release this weekend, it seemed only fitting to continue providing coverage surrounding all things related to Scarlett Johansson; and while Why So Blu’s Brandon Peters continues his very detailed log regarding her pregnancy, I am simply posting the trailer for her film Lucy, arriving in theaters on August 8th. From the look of it, Lucy appears to be a female-led futuristic take on the film Limitless. In addition, Luc Besson is the man behind the camera, which certainly raises my interests, even after recently suffering through The Family. Regardless, check out the trailer in this post and decide for yourself if the film looks like a good time.

Like it or not, there is a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie headed to theaters this summer. They have traveled through time, eaten plenty of pizza, and have now turned into CG creations produced by Nickelodeon and Michael Bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: LA) and stars Megan Fox as April O’Neil and William Fichtner as The Shredder, who seems to have a tie to the secret of the Ooze as well as O’Neil’s father, who is now linked to its creation; making the film feel like it is borrowing from deleted sections of The Amazing Spider-Man‘s untold story. Regardless, I have no real issue with these changes, regardless of what the original comic and various cartoon series have established as general canon. If the film turns out to be a new fun take on the source material than I’ll be happy to start belting out lyrics to T-U-R-T-L-E Power. Continue on to check out the trailer.

Honestly I was not going to post this, but it has been stuck in my mind all day. The world did not need Kellan Lutz as Hercules, but putting The Rock in as Hercules has my attention. I am a big fan of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and while I do not go out of my way to praise Brett Ratner, he has more often than not made entertaining films (if he keeps his mouth shut and just directs his films and his actors, his resume is pretty decent). Now the two have come together to adapt the graphic novels based on the Hercules legend and it looks like a lot of fun. I may not have cared for the recent Conan film with Jason Momoa, but this Hercules film looks to be a more solid step in the fun that can be had with that kind of story. Also, The Rock looks freaking massive in this role, fitting of the mythological Greek hero. Continue on to check out the trailer and see some pics and a poster.

Here is the second trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Given how quiet marketing has been, as far as revealing plot details regarding one of the best story lines in the X-Men comics goes, this new trailer will surely satisfy those on board with the popular mutant franchise, as it has plenty to offer as far as juicy new footage, fitting of an action/superhero blockbuster. A new poster has been released as well, once again suggesting that (aside from The Wolverine) Fox has no idea how to make a great X-Men movie poster. This one is not terrible, but it’s still pretty blah. Take a look for yourself at both the new trailer and the new poster by continuing on in this post.

This year’s Super Bowl gave everyone there first glimpse at the fourth Transformers film from director Michael “Boom Boom” Bay. Now we have a full length trailer that provides just about everything one either loves, hates, or loves to hate about this franchise. That said, we also get a new cast to deal with as well, along with Dinobots. There are sparse details on the plot of this film, but if anyone was hoping Transformers would finally fine a way to fit in an overprotective father played by Mark Wahlberg, well they have just that to work with. Will he bond with Grimlock? I have no idea, but there will surely be lots of explosions. Continue on to get a look at the full trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction, along with the brand new Wahlberg-centric poster for the film and some others too.

Godzilla just looks great. I do not know how else to say it. We now have a second trailer for the newest take on the legendary creature (which is being produced by Legendary) and it continues to look like a stunning achievement. The cast is solid, the effects will obviously be amazing, and I am a big fan of where it looks like this story is going. In terms of markeing, Warner Brothers is doing a pretty fantastic job of selling me on what this movie is capable of delivering. I can only hope it meets my expectations, but I at least expected a good time at the movies (in IMAX), come this may. Continue on to see the newest trailer for Godzilla, along with some images, and the latest poster.
