Scream Factory’s “Fall Frights” just began this week and is going to be terrorizing your Blu-ray shelves and wallets all the way through Hanukkah and Christmas! Today, we have the details on the Ma and Pa video store classic, DOLLS. You remember that cover art right? The one with the little doll holding her eyeballs and having that sinister set of teeth on the side of her face? Yeesh, gives me the willies. In case you don’t want to creep yourself out on that image, since this is a Collector’s Edition, they have some sweet new alternate “remixed” artwork for the release. Check out all the details below and pre-order yourself a copy. I believe if you pre-order from Shout! Factory’s website you may get this before the release date, just in time for Halloween.

Free Fall feels almost like a reunion to me. After falling in love with the remake of I Spit on Your Grave a few years back I have subsequently fallen for Sarah Butler as a direct byproduct too. So while this movie can either go one of two ways, suck or be decent, I’m willing to gamble a couple hours of my life on it. How about you? Come on horror fans! It has Sarah Butler AND Malcolm McDowell in it! That’s like a two for one deal! So here’s the basics. They both star in Free Fall and the elevator terror flick will be unleashed on Blu-ray October 28th! Looks like I’m about to marathon the Wrong Turn series. I’ve seen the first one and go the second one (Directed by Joe Lynch) for free on Vudu but not watched it. Apparently a couple of these aren’t too bad. Now, there’s a sixth one coming this October. I must applaud the interesting way with which they’ve presented their press release for the film, even if turns out to be not so good in the end. When the film opened this summer, it broke all existing opening day box office records in South Korea.

This isn’t a Collector’s Edition like the original, but it still has some solid bonus material to boot. Just so you readers know, when I do my reviews for things, I will do my research. When I was sent Blood Valley: Seed’s Revenge, I discovered it was the sequel the 2007 Uwe Boll film Seed. So, I went and watched the first film in preparation to do this review. What I wound up witness was an unnecessarily mean spirited and brutal horror film that had no spirit, no life, just beatings and killings that the camera refused to go away from. Some people claim that Rob Zombie as a director has a hard time showing restraint, well, Uwe Boll surely puts that notion to bed here. I’m one that has an appreciation for gore effects, too, but with no real heart or purpose to any of this it was just no fun and no good. Uwe didn’t return to this second one and it looked more of a typical slasher, so I had some small hope it’d be better. 
I’m incredibly excited to be the one to announce the Blu-ray debut of one of old time Hollywood’s greatest films, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. Sony will be putting this out and giving it plenty of love. It should look absolutely gorgeous in this new 4K transfer. The disc is also fully loaded with bonus material including commentaries, featurettes and a feature length documentary. They’ve put it in digibook packaging that includes an essay from film historian Jeremy Arnold. Jimmy Stewart gives an earnest performance here and is one of my all time favorites from the legendary actor. Keep scrolling down to get the complete rundown of this release.
