Scream Factory’s “Summer Of Fear” keeps turning up the heat. Today they broke the news that they’ll be releasing Golden-Era slasher film The Final Terror, hopefully in July. The film has a notable cast members of the likes of Joe Pantoliano and Daryl Hannah. This is great news for those of us that love collecting all our favorite vintage slashers on Blu-ray. Alright, you knew this moment was coming and I cannot wait to ring the new year in officially now that we are in it with a Blu-ray screening of American Hustle! You know what I be saying? That’s right! In my world, the coveted picture of the year is going to come down to this, Gravity and unfortunately 12 Years a Slave, but thou hast no fear…it’s going to be American Hustle all the way. I’m as sure of it as I was the 2013 Denver Broncos losing by 40 points in the biggest game of the year (does that instill confidence or what?). Actually, I stand more of a chance with this prediction! Haha. So without further ado, let’s join Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in talking everything American Hustle below…and oh yeah…don’t forget to get your 
Frozen audiences were invited to join the act – literally – this past weekend as more than 2000 theaters nationwide introduced an all-new sing-a-long version of Disney’s Oscar®-nominated, Golden Globe®-winning big-screen adventure. Josh Gad, who voices the character Olaf, surprised audiences at the Sing-A-Long Screening this Sunday at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
After this trailer, I’m thinking this film looks like a lot of fun. We’re all Breaking Bad and Aaron Paul fans, so I’m sure that’s enough to get most of us to watch it. This film may fill that Fast & Furious void present this year. And if you dig car chases, this looks like one giant chase. I hear it features a lot of practical effects and tremendous stunt work. If it includes great filmmaking of said stunt work, then this could be quite the spectacle. Need For Speed hits theaters on March 14th. Zoom zoom ahead to watch the Super Bowl trailer!
The green was smothering in the 1st half. And it didn’t stop in the commercials either. Kermit the Frog returns in the the follow up to the Muppet Movie, Muppets Most Wanted. The film looks to feature cameos from stars galore and a lot more Muppet fun and mayhem. Marvel Studios leveraged America’s favorite sporting event to debut the world premiere of the new full-length trailer in an unprecedented cross platform partnership with Fox and Marvel. Fox broadcaster Joe Buck introduced the special look to the Big Game spot, which directed viewers to FoxSports.com for a complete CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER takeover and the brand new full-length trailer. The :30 second Big Game spot included music from the National Anthem and aired surrounding the team captains introduction and the National Anthem performance.
Remember my wishlist article? Scratch this one off that list. The Scream Factory Collector’s Edition of Ginger Snaps is one of my most anticipated releases of the year. And its getting their full treatment. The Blu-ray won’t be here until July and the extras aren’t finalized yet, but today they dropped us a look at the key artwork for it. It comes from Joel Robinson who did the art on the Vincent Price box set last year. July can’t come soon enough as I’m really excited for this one. I’ve also included a look at key artwork recently announced for their upcoming Collector’s Editions of Dog Soldiers and Sleepaway Camp (Finally! Cannot wait!). Also noteworthy is they have announced that they will be adding Lake Placid and Hellhole to their “Summer of Fear” lineup. Here’s another film I just never had the chance to see, but may get a chance to in the near future. Boroughs – unfolds when Sony Pictures Classics’ KILL YOUR DARLINGS becomes available March 18 on Bluray™* Combo Pack and Digital from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Directed by John Krokidas in his feature film debut, KILL YOUR DARLINGS premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival as Grand Jury Prize nominee. The film was also the official selection of the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals, taking home the Venice Days International Award. A true story of friendship, love and murder, KILL YOUR DARLINGS recounts the pivotal year that changed Allen Ginsberg’s life forever and provided the spark to start his creative revolution. Next Tuesday, Scream Factory hits one out of the park with its releases of Kevin Tenney’s 80s horror classics Witchboard and Night Of The Demons. I’ve already reviewed Witchboard (HERE) and you’ll be able to read my Night Of The Demons review very soon. To tide you over until then and until next Tuesday, Scream Factory has provided me with some clips from these two gems. These all come from the bonus material found on these glorious releases. Also, its not too late to pre-order these titles, and I’ve provided links to do so after all the fun clips and pics. So, don’t delay, act now! Haha 
Universal Studios is finally releasing two classics from their extensive vault in April. Billy Wilder’s Double Indemnity and Orson Welles’ Touch Of Evil will both make their long overdue debuts on Blu-ray on April 15. Its kind of a bummer it takes classics like these so long to make the jump to the format, but they don’t seem to be much of the priority anymore and the more years tick by the further they tick from being of relevancy to general customers. But, when stuff like this finally does roll around, it’s very exciting for us collectors and film history appreciators. Both films will come in special edition type versions with multiple commentaries, features and two cuts of the film for Touch Of Evil. Coming at you next month, from Phase 4 Films and XLrator Media is JAMESY BOY. This true story features notable acting vets James Woods, Mary Louise-Parker and Ving Rhames. It also sports the little Farmiga (Taissa) and a Black Eyed Pea (because everybody loves them). This seems to be the tale of a street thug who does some time and turns his life around inside the big house. I suppose what interested me in this is that I’ve always been a fan of James Woods and I’m also a big fan of Mary Louise-Parker. One can only hope this is a nice touching drama that is at least a solid story that is able to separate itself from many films that follow this common storyline and theme. There is no pre-order yet available for this title, but I’m sure one will appear very soon. It comes out the 25th of next month. Let’s face it, besides the Aliens box set years ago and the Universal Monsters one, in my opinion this may be one the greatest Blu-ray packages ever assembled, even though it’s repackage (although with a new transfer on the first film) of an earlier set. One may expect me to say that of the Star Wars Saga set put out a few years ago, but let’s admit the facts. There’s only one stinker in the Rocky franchise where there’s three in the Star Wars universe, right? Well, to be fair, they didn’t suck. But they weren’t that great either! Haha. So all in all, the story of Rocky and the films that follow in the franchise mean so much to me personally that I don’t think words can ever accurately describe my love and affinity for them.
