Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 acts as a conclusion to the Lords of Shadow story. The new game is set in a modern city tainted by Dracula’s influence and within Dracula’s castle itself. It sees a tortured Dracula charged with engaging Satan in battle once again. This epic sequel boasts a vast open-world environment, user-controlled […]

Dead Space 2 is a fantastic follow up to the original Science Fiction/Survival Horror sleeper hit from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts. It is not as much a significant upgrade as say Assassin’s Creed to Assassin’s Creed II, but it takes what worked very well in an already great first entry and adds little tweaks […]

I don’t get a chance to write about video games often, so I am pleased to be able to provide a rundown of the games I have enjoyed playing the most this year. I may not be a professional game reviewer, but I know what I like vs. what frustrates me in video games; and even in a time where my free time has dwindled (yes, part of my living involves watching movies and writing about them, but it’s still work, dammit!), I still managed to play a lot of games.

And then there was light…sabers…two actually. Yes, after the impressive sales of 2008’s Star Wars The Force Unleashed, it only made sense to build on that success and deliver a sequel. After all, the first one wasn’t just a video game, it was the only piece of Star Wars non-movie material that George Lucas declared […]

Few retired video game systems have the nostalgia and replay value as the original 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. The system spawned such titles as Super Mario Bros., Contra and the almighty gridiron classic, Tecmo Bowl. The football classic later found life on the Super Nintendo in 1993 in the form of the best-selling Tecmo Super […]

Straight out of orbit and into your PS3 is the new Aliens vs. Predator (AVP) first-person shooter. Rebellion, the same company that brought us the very successful PC version of the game over a decade ago, is back with their 21st century overhaul. In AVP, you have the option of playing any one of the […]

I know I can’t speak for everyone, but I know for sure that I am not a proponent off spending one-quarter the value of my A/V equipment on expensive cables. That same philosophy of mine especially applies towards the magical must-have HDMI cable and all its marketed flavors it supposedly comes in. So what’s the […]

If you watch any television at all, you’ve no doubt seen the Netflix ads in which they promote their streaming video service. As long as you have one of the company’s “unlimited” DVD or Blu-ray rental memberships, you have access to a library of around 17,000 movies, TV shows and concerts to watch on demand […]

Gaming has changed quite a bit since its beginnings in the 1970’s with Magnavox’s Odyssey and its first steps into mainstream pop culture in the mid to late 1980’s with Nintendo’s NES. Games have gone from tests of skill with steep learning curves such as Deadly Towers and Ghosts and Goblins to more cinematic titles […]

I still have the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance for my old Xbox. Man, I had a blast with that game. Though it wasn’t completely original (there were some X-Men games before it that used a similar format), it was loads of fun and eclipsed those X-Men games in every possible aspect of fun. However, as […]

When word got out that a new Batman game was on the horizon, ears perked. When screen shots were released, jaws dropped. Game developer Eidos brings us Batman: Arkham Asylum to the Playstation 3. I have to admit, I was kind of leery. I played the demo at an EB Games store a couple months […]
