I love it when a plan comes together. In one of the most ambitious film proposals in recent memory, The Avengers has finally arrived and paid off greatly. Setting itself up back in 2008 with Iron Man and adding on layers through the other four Marvel Comic films that have come since, the massive gamble […]

The Victorian boys are back in town. Sherlock and Watson are back and this time they are wrapped up in a deadly game of shadows, as the threat of Professor Moriarty looms in the background. The first film, from 2009, turned out to be a lot of fun, given the new take on the character […]

While there are plenty of other things to eventually write about concerning Disney’s D23 Expo, which took place at the Anaheim Convention Center this past weekend, one of the most anticipated moments was easily the debut of basically anything related to the upcoming Avengers film. As many keeping track of this sort of news know, […]

I suppose it can be construed that Director Todd Phillips took on this project to give himself some much needed distance from his previous surprise hit (The Hangover) before tackling his next project, The Hangover 2 (currently in production). I could completely understand if this was true and in all honesty, I would not blame […]

As little time as I have to actually sit at home and watch all the Blu-rays I own and check out all the special features they have to offer, there are a certain number of films that I could not pass up when it came to checking them out at my own leisure, in the comfort of my own home. The following list is set of films that I consider to be some of the best that the Blu-ray format has had to offer for this year.

So I guess I was expecting better here. I did not necessarily expect to see a comedy classic in the making, but I did think that the talent involved in this film would have provided me with a consistently entertaining movie. Instead, what I observed was a film that was only occasionally very funny. I […]

With any Spider-Man future pretty much dead and buried for Sam Raimi, the director now has the luxury of focusing his duties elsewhere, with his next project to be a prequel of one of the most heralded films of all time; The Wizard of Oz. Raimi will be at the helm for Oz: The Great […]

Although Gregg Senko kind of reported on all things Hall H yesterday, I have a slew of photos from every panel that I wanted to share with all our readers. First up, is the surprise event of the night, maybe even a lifetime, depending upon who you are talking to. As we were beginning to […]

A place to sit is a much sought after item in the large Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center. The reason for this is due to the fact that this hallowed hall is where all the big budget films introduce their cast and trailers. Saturday saw the likes of some highly anticipated titles […]

In 2008, Iron Man was released to an audience that wasn’t very familiar with the character and with a lead actor that had a history of personal demons that never allowed him to achieve the success his talent deserved. It turned out to be an explosive combination that raked in over $535 million worldwide. By […]

This action adventure boasts a terrific cast including Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson. It is directed by […]

It still holds true, after my Blu-ray viewing last night, that I generally like movies more the second time around. So why would last night’s viewing of Sherlock Holmes on Blu-ray be any different? I’m not going to lie and say that I fell head over heels in love with the film concurrently with my […]

Even if I used terms such as clever, bright, ingenious, adept, cunning, discerning, quick-witted, resourceful, shrewd, versatile and keen, I could never come close to describing the attributes of the fictional character Sherlock Holmes.
