Get set for another outrageously inappropriate bout of fantasy football madness with Season Five of The League, including 11 UNRATED extended episodes. After the draft at Andre’s bachelor party nearly derails his wedding, Rafi plots Kevin’s death, Taco tries life without weed, Pete pays Ruxin the ultimate disrespect, and Kevin and Jenny’s “sexiversary” celebration ends very, very badly. The DVD release will include all 24 half-hour episodes from the third season, plus never-before-seen extras including deleted scenes and a gag reel. In its third season on CBS, 2 Broke Girls delivered an average of more than nine million viewers weekly and was one of network TV’s top four sitcoms among Adults 18–49. 2 Broke Girls returns for a fourth season in late fall, airing Mondays 8/7c on CBS.

I may not have enjoyed the acclaimed Showtime series Homeland as much as I have since its fantastic first season, but this is a series I certainly still enjoy quite a bit and am still compelled to see play out further, especially given how the third season ended. Speaking of which, the third season of Homeland is coming to Blu-ray on September 9, with a few special extras to go with it. For those that have only caught up on the second season, some things have obviously changed, but the show still has plenty of big surprises up its sleeve, along with a pretty fantastic finale to look forward too. Wow. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the ground. We’ve known for about a year that Scream Factory was going to put out the director’s cut of Clive Barker’s cult classic Nightbreed. But I don’t think in our wildest imaginations we thought THIS would be what’s coming. There are 2 releases here. One is the standard director’s cut Blu-ray which is what I think we all assumed this was going to be. BUT WAIT! A limited edition (5,000) set with 3 discs INCLUDING the theatrical cut which means WARNER BROS ACTUALLY SUB LICENSED SOMETHING!!! Also comes with a book and a 3rd disc (exclusive to the set) crammed with bonus material. Both editions also have their own exclusive artwork. It comes out just before Halloween hits too. Does anybody own the old Halloween: H20 DVD that came out back in 1998? You know, the one that was set in 4:3 Letterbox and included the worthless bonus features of ‘Trivia’ and a Creed music video? On the back of that box it said there was a commentary with Jamie Lee Curtis and Steve Miner. On the disc however, no such thing existed. Forever, people wondered what happened to it. Why was it scrapped? Is it laying around here somewhere? Would it pop up on the Blu-ray…nope…they can’t even get the correct framing on that thing. Apparently that commentary was never recorded. BUT, thank you Scream Factory (they’re doing the bonus, not Anchor Bay)! It’s going to happen and be moderated by horor community fan favorite Sean Clark. This is pretty big too, as Steve Miner doesn’t like to do commentaries. As proof that this isn’t like last time, Anchor Bay has sent along a photo! Cannot wait for what will likely be the best Blu-ray release of the year (in my eyes)! Oh, and I also included a photo of the back of the DVD case to show you guys I’m not off my rocker on that. This past Thursday night I finally got the chance to sit down with George Dawe, a 51-year-old actor and stuntman (you can check out his IMDB page here), residing in Fallbrook, CA and talk about his newest project he’s passionately working on. Now let me back up for one minute before we dive into further discussing this newest endeavor of his. I have known George for a number of years now and let me tell you the man has quite an impressive resume of accomplishments in life. Not only is he an actor and a stuntman like I mentioned prior, but he was also once an attorney and a pilot. I mention the word pilot to cleverly segue into the reason we are all here today to talk about his newest “pilot,” the documentary television series Old Bold Pilots. The Saturn Awards sure knows how to pick ’em as we both agree the Halloween 35th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray from last year was one of the year’s best. It was among my personal #1 of 2013 (I picked all John Carpenter releases and tied them together). Saturn maybe should have waited a year for the box set, haha. Or maybe the Halloween franchise can rake in back to back wins. This 35th Anniversary Edition was most notable because they got Dean Cundey to come back and get the color timing right and approve the image to be near identical to its theatrical release. And my, it looked absolutely fantastic. Almost like seeing it for the first time. There was one scratch most had on the release, and that was the lack of the original mono track. Missed this one in theaters, but I heard very good things: Gugu Mbatha-Raw delivers “a breakthrough performance” (Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times) in this “gorgeous must-see film” (Cori Murray, Essence) that’s based on an extraordinary true story. Although Dido Elizabeth Belle (Mbatha-Raw), an 18th century English woman of mixed race, is raised in privilege by her aristocratic great-uncle (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), she is denied a proper social standing because of her skin color. But when Dido falls in love with a young idealist lawyer (Sam Reid) who aspires to create positive change, she finds herself caught between two worlds. With all these current summer blockbusters out in theaters, it could be easy to not realize how big the fall is going to be, but between Interstellar, the last Hobbit movie, and of course The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, there are some really big movies coming out towards the end of the year as well. Now we have a teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which features a lot of President Snow and it is effectively fitting for fans of the series and those that enjoy some creative marketing on display. Hot on the heels of The Protector 2 coming to Blu-ray, why don’t we just toss Tony Jaa’s other franchise in a box set and put that on Blu-ray too! Good? GOOD! I’m wondering with the timing of these movies and the month they are getting released, if they weren’t strategically placed a while back in order to cash in on Fast & Furious 7 which was supposed to come out in July and they just ended up saying “screw it, release them anyway”. I was late to the Portlandia party, but once I began I couldn’t stop and rifled through the first 3 seasons as quick as I had the time for them. I didn’t manage to watch Season 4 as it aired, but alas, here it comes on DVD for me to check out. This show consists of some incredibly funny sketch comedy, rivaling that of the legendary Mr. Show series in its style and execution. Not too long ago I had a feeling this may or may not happen. And here it is, the Leprechaun collection is hitting Blu-ray this fall. You may remember it as the star of my St. Patty’s Day Blu-ray Wishlist piece a few months back. The crazier, more ridiculous and cheaper this series gets, the more I tend to enjoy them. This box set will also contain the WWE Films reimagining of the series Leprechaun: Origins as well. So you get all 7 Leprechaun films in one shot. Lionsgate is very much doing what Universal did with the Chucky set last year, which is a very smart move. Most the information below is about Origins, but keep looking and you see this will be a complete set. And yeah, I’m one of the few pretty stoked this is coming.
